"Welcome to my life." *snort* I love Sam. "Enemies" was just on on the CBS affiliate (yay syndication, when they run things after midnight! *rolls eyes*). Somehow they've managed to completely skip over "Meridian" and the one that comes after it (starts with an "r", but I'm too lazy to look it up) and go directly back to the beginning of S5, but hey, whatever. It's all new to me.

Putting the finishing touches on my holiday wallpaper. Yay! Except instead of expunging my unseasonal Christmas spirit, it's only made me want to write Harry Potter Christmas fic. No, I don't understand it either. However, if something comes of it, it may end up being the not-quite-promised McGonagall/Dumbledore pastfic that I haven't started on yet 'cause I can't find quite the right poem I want to base it around.

*jaw-cracking yawn* Mmmm. Probably time for me to go to bed. Hopefully that weird nightmare about getting overrun by a tide while pushing a cart down interconnected piers that followed the same layout as Photoshop dropdown menus won't wake me up at six in the morning again... (And this is how we know Becca can't swim. All my nightmares involve large amounts of water.)

SG-1 holiday wallpaper: with text, without text.

Or: how many promo shots can we cram into one collage? ;)

Mask are even more fun when the background layer has lights. :) As is becoming usual, the background is stock photography mixed with an image of my own (the snowy hemlock you can't see very well), overlaid with SG images. I tried really, really hard to make this as gen as possible, but little bits and pieces of Sam/Jack and Daniel/Janet snuck in. Ah, well.

I have two intro paragraphs for original fics. The one where I have an idea of where I'm going sucks, or at least isn't as good as I'd like it to be. The other one that has nothing to say for itself beyond the intro is much better.

I hate it when that happens.

Got Poetry?

Finally wrote something new. Okay, so it steals heavily from Millay's "Ebb," but after four or five months of not writing anything remotely poetic, I'm taking what I can get. I'm about to start issuing challenges so someone will take up the topics I can't seem to get on paper tonight... Anyway, I'll call this a writing excercise and leave it at that.

"Drying"

Drying from the outside in,
my heart watches you
go out with the tide.
A tiny pool that shrinks steadily,
waiting for a wave
that will never come
and darken sand
with your footprints again.

Have idea for fluffy/angsty Sam/Jack Christmas fic. Sigh. When it actually gets to be December, watch me write Independence Day fic. (Which I also have a vauge idea for, BTW. Not fleshed-out enough in my mind to actually put anything on paper, though)

And finally, I just saw a commercial for CBS' new show, Cupid. *sighs* How quickly they forget... Even though I never saw an episode beyond some mpeg clips, I still liked reading fic for ABC's Cupid. Actually, I wrote a fic for that show...one that could be completed with a few sentences...but which will probably never see the light of day, because I still have some self-respect, and am not a complete fan-whore. Yet.
