Yay! First draft of the essay rolled off the press *coughChandra'sprintercough* at 11:30. It needs some work, but it turned out that it didn't need the massive structural revision I thought it did, so it turned out well. Still needs a little going-over, but hopefully not a whole lot. Meep.

Then we ended up chatting with Ellen for, um, an hour and a half...and booking a hostel room online for Saturday's LSO trip... (This is a classy hostel. Lockers in the rooms for your stuff!)

It's that time of year again, so step right up and leave your address in the screened comments (or, alternately, send an e-mail to author1 [at] comcast [dot] net) for a non-denominational winter season card. [/PCness] I lost everyone's address when my computer went kablooey this summer, so even if I once had yours, I don't anymore.

And at some point, I'll go around and fill out everybody else's address requests...

Well, I have a second draft now, except it's 35 words over the maximum word count. *sigh* Stupid British system with uber-firm word requirements.

Because I find it amusing, here's a picture of my desk from last night It's got everything I need--computer (mostly out of the shot), Shakespeare bible, one of my many reference books, candy, cup of tea, iPod, bottle of water, and, yes, roast turkey and stuffing-flavored potato chips. I have no idea what is up with these British people and their penchant for meat-flavored potato products. But these were very accurate; it was like a Thanksgiving dinner in my mouth. They were...edible. Don't think I'll be buying any more, but I did finish these.

Sorry for the spam. I think I'm making up for pretty much staying away from LJ for most of this week.

Anyway. During my essay breaks, I wrote a short Phantom of the Opera fic for Chandra's Christmas present (she does Phantom like most of us do Farscape; it's scary), and I thought I'd toss it out here. Comments are welcome.
