I finally got around to watching the recorded eps of Firefly I had (just the two-part pilot, or first two, or however they number their eps...whatever they showed on Sci-Fi last week). It's...not bad. Which is a better reaction than the "eh" it got the last time I tried to watch it, so hey. I think it might be the Western element that I'm not sold on. Or maybe it's that everybody MUMBLES ALL THE FREAKING TIME WHILE TALKING REALLY FAST and I have to turn on closed captioning to understand half the words that come out of their mouths, which always aggravates me.
I recognize that it's good, and the ways in which it is good, and it made me giggle a few times, and I love the music, and I was interested enough to watch all of these and make plans to watch the next few, but it has yet to really grab me, you know? It must be a Whedon thing, 'cause that's how I felt about Buffy and Angel, too.
So...more eps. And since people such as
asinpterodactyl seem to be into it, I imagine I'll go along if a big group of people go see the movie in Mt. Vernon (especially if I like the other eps).
That said, I think I'm a little in love with Jayne. Hee. He's definitely my favorite character.
