icepixie1. Bwahaha! Okay, so I found out why Right Said Fred was a one-hit wonder. Ever heard anything else by them besides "I'm Too Sexy"? No? There's a reason. Someone by the name of Fairygnomes (sorry, don't have the link) did an SG-1 vid to "My Mate" that is frelling hilarious. The song is so bad...in such a deliciously bad way. I mean, you know exactly how bad it is, and yet you want to listen to it again 'cause you can't get over the badness of it. I'm cracking up here! "Taxi!" *doubles over in laughter* It works as a vague Hustle, too, which is even funnier.
2. Remakes of songs should be banned. Atomic Kitten, whoever they are, need to get their own material instead of swiping from Blondie. "The Tide Is High" so didn't need to be remade into some sort of R&B/pop thing. Yeesh. It was perfect as it was! Remake it and it loses all its campy charm! And don't even get me started on that godawful Dixie Chicks remake of "Landslide"... *groan*
3. The current Plan is that at the end of the month, my parents and I are going to pack upand head down to Gulf Shores, Alabama for three-ish days. (For those who don't know, Gulf Shores is a resort/tourist trap-type town midway between Mobile and the Florida state line.) I can't say as I'm really looking forward to 7+ hours in the car, each way, with my parents, and then two or three nights in a motel room with them. Yay seeing an ocean for the first time in my life (yes, sheltered life, I know, I know...my one and only "vacation," aside from ScaperCons, was an overnight trip to Chattanooga when I was nine), but eeyurg dealing with being that close to my parents for that long. We'll drive each other completely frelling fahrbot. No, I'm not joking. We usually tend to hole up in our own little space with our own little computer when we're all together.
4. I may not be able to make vids *glares at vid muses hovering around head* but I do have mad Photoshop skills, and I can make collages. Wheee! I was holding off on that 'cause that's how I screwed up my wrist last summer, but hey, what the hell. I'll just not do it all day, every day for weeks on end. And I can actually use the one thing I learned in that damned digital art class, which is how to use masks. Woo-woo! Sucks that Photoshop 7, which is native to OS X, doesn't let me use KPT filters and other cool things, though...I have to go back to classic and use 6. Le sigh. Ah, well.
5. I'm using this summer to conquer the learning curve that is Adobe GoLive. Pagemill just isn't cuttin' it anymore. I want frames and mouseovers and other fun things. Now, just need to get the serial number from Dad at some point...
6. Please excuse typos in this post. I have interesting face goo on my face at the moment, and I'm typing without my glasses. I really, honestly have no idea what this sentence looks like on the screen, and I'm sitting, what, a foot away from it? God, my eyes suck.
