I finally remembered to watch Spooks tonight, mostly because Andy Serkis was guest starring. It was...hmmm. Perhaps a mixture of Alias and some bad CSI knock off that was less than the sum of its parts? I wanted to like it, but it just didn't stick. Andy Serkis was amusing as a grunge rocker, though.

I didn't see any of that blonde chick in your icon, for example. It was mostly about the guest stars.

Actually, they've canned two of the three main characters in the show since the season started - Tom and Zoe. Only Danny is left of the original three - he's the black guy. The kinda scruffy looking guy Adam has replaced Tom, and I think the woman who plays his wife Fiona will be replacing Zoe in the regular cast. So it wasn't all about the guest stars. It's just that there has been a turnover of the regulars.

Hmm. Well, it was still sort of like warmed-over Alias, IMO...and there's no way I can remember to watch it usually, as it's on my main homework night, so... *shrug*

I've heard it described as a cross between Alias and 24. I guess the difference is that the plots and the characters are much more believable than Alias, which borders on SciFi at times. I like it though.

If you have BBC3, then you can watch it on a weekend night. Otherwise it's on BBC1 on a Monday night.

Heh. That might be my problem; I'm totally not into straight dramas. Even Alias was pushing it a bit, although that may have been the general drop in quality this past season.. The coolest part of the Spooks ep was the not-quite-real speedy walking thing one of the "spooks" did.

We do get BBC3, but weekend nights aren't good for me either, I'm afraid; we're usually traveling. Ah, well.
