That's for your projects. According to natural sciences grad students and professors I know, the job prospects are better than for the humanities, the scholarships are better, and often the pay is better. *sigh*
I came thisclose to going to library school instead of grad school. If I were paying tuition and not getting a stipend, it would've had to be part-time distance learning or something rather than full time, though. At least my higher ed pays me to go and for my teaching labor...
