Fic dilemma/rambling

icepixieOkay. So, despite the fact that I would really like her to help me out with either the fluffy or the angsty pieces I've got going on that are based on spoilers for season 7, Muse has decided that I need to write a Stargate/X-Files crossover. Moreover, she has decided that this xover needs to have a long, involved plot, actually make sense, be all action/adventure-y, and have no shippiness to fall back on (blatant and shameless UST for Sam/Jack and Mulder/Scully throughout the whole thing, but no out-and-out shippiness). She thinks it will be a challenge.
Yeah, I'm ready to kill her.
Anyway. Anyone have any ideas how Moose & Squirrel could get into Cheyenne Mountain? My first thought was to have the Lone Gunmen fake them some IDs, but as stated above, I want this to be at least mildly plausible. With something as heavily classified as the SGC, I kinda doubt a few faked papers are gonna work. My current idea is to have them pose as archaeologists with a really low clearance level who get into the very top level of the moutain in order to analyse some artifacts (which they are told are from a dig on Earth). Then they would slip into the lower levels on their own.
I so need a better idea.
Muse has also decided that Sam and Scully were passing acquaintances while Sam was working at the Pentagon. And possibly that Jacob Carter and Bill Scully knew each other. As persnickety as Muse is being tonight, I'm surprised she isn't trying to slash Sam and Scully. *gets a really funny mental image* Auuuugh.
[ETA: Oh, and given my propensity for writing r e a l l y s l o w l y when it comes to fics longer than five pages, don't expect to see this before the end of the millennium. Just so ya know.]
