Pit Beagle!

There's a dog (nearly full-grown puppy, really) that's been running around our neighborhood lately. She looks like some mixture of pit bull and beagle, so Mom came up with the portmanteau of "pit beagle." As there's no tag on her collar, that's become her name when she comes by the house. She's so cute! To wit:

Awww, what a cutie!

But that just makes me all the more angry that people let their pets run around loose. Because the "awww, cute" too often becomes "aww, poor baby" when the next time you see it, it's dead along the side of the road.

Definitely Beagle in there. The head looks a little pit bull-ish. Hard to tell, though, because it definitely has a beagle snout. Cute dog.
