Okay, note to self: driving after spending an hour at PT for the knees, wherein you do approximately five million exercises involving the thigh muscles, is a BAD IDEA.
(On the other hand, I got to pretend I was Starbuck in "Hand of God" while I was at the knee-press machine, so that was kind of fun.)

Date: 2005-07-21 07:23 pm (UTC)And yes, my leg muscles are all sore - haven't done the leg press though. He just straps weights to my ankles and makes me pull up my legs about 30 times.
oh!! and he does this warm jelly ultrasound thing... it's so awesome.

Date: 2005-07-22 02:07 am (UTC)Yeah, I remember you mentioning it in your LJ, and I meant to comment, but forgot. Whoops. *g* Is yours for an injury or for something similar to my "you need remedial muscle growth to keep up with your bones" disease?

I'm sure I'll eventually get there. *sigh* Today was only my second of at least eight appointments.

That sounds a lot more fun than doing leg lifts until you drop from exhaustion...

Date: 2005-07-22 03:46 pm (UTC)No injury - I've had this problem since I can remember... I remember having to lean on Michele in Middle and High school cause I couldn't walk between classes.
I went to the Dr. when I was a teen and he just brushed it off saying "do more exercise" - but he gave me a paper on how to do it. Not helpful.
Finally got so bad during Clinicals this past month that I went to this Dr who gave me a prescription for Physical therapy (which wow, I'm so glad he did =)) so I go three times. Today is my last day and he'll see how I'm doing.
The Dr named some big name - and it might be the same reason you're going. Basically he said some big medical name which means "bad knees" - lol. He said a lot of girls my age have this problem. Greeeaaaaat.
I'm sure I'll eventually get there. *sigh* Today was only my second of at least eight appointments.
*snerk* I wish I could go eight times, just for the eye candy *g*
>That sounds a lot more fun than doing leg lifts until you drop from >exhaustion...
yeah, it's really nice... when I finished the leg weights I'm like "Okay! get em off!"
But oh Becca... he's so *cute*!!

Date: 2005-07-23 04:45 am (UTC)I got that too. Mine's called "chondromalacia," which basically means, well, do more exercise. Something about the muscles not being strong enough to keep the kneecap in place, and thus, pain.

Date: 2005-07-23 03:21 pm (UTC)That's what I have!! - Except he added "patela" on the end of it...
So Chondro meaning tendons or muscles (I think muscles) malacia meaning bad or pain and patela meaning knee...
Chrondomalaciapatela.
Hey Becca!! We have the same problem!!
-oh, and you know what?? - God answered my prayers - I have Physical Therapy for *5* more weeks. I thought it was for only one week =)
Yay for the eye candy!!
The only part I really hate is when he straps the weights to my ankles and I have to do all these different leg lifts - ugh. Horrible.
