fiara and I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this afternoon. As I'd hoped it would be, it's quite good, though it is strange and disturbing in the same way that all Tim Burton films are strange and disturbing. Johnny Depp is awesome. Even in a bad wig.

Francesca Hunt's role as Veruca Salt's mother was smaller than I'd anticipated; she didn't get any dialogue, and was onscreen for all of thirty seconds. But that "Oh DEAR Lord" expression she has right before she downs the martini is just fantastic. I heart Francesca. (Also? She's blonde in this, which is is shocking after...well, look at the icon.)

Now I want to read some SAJV fic, but I think I've read it all already. *sigh*

A large part of my motivation for seeing this one came from her being in it, let me tell you. And it's good otherwise, too!

Sad to hear it's such a short scene, but still.
