"Orpheus" ramblings
Jun. 27th, 2003 09:15 pmShort 'n' sweet, with a certain amount of frivolity.
* Apparently it's Teal'c-whumping Week on Sci-Fi. The Monday Marathon had "Deadman Switch" (Teal'c giving himself up to the bounty hunter in return for the Tok'ra), "Demons" (Teal'c being thrown in the lake for being "possessed"), and "Forever in a Day" (heavier on the Danny-whumping, sure, but then he couldn't forgive Teal'c for almost all of the dream/vision thingy). Then he gets near-mortally wounded--twice--tonight. Poor Teal'c!
* Can I just say how much I adore Janet's hair this season? Pretty!
* In the same vein, Sam's hair is growing, somewhat, on me. The only problem is that the combined length, color, and fluffy/weedwhacked appearance make it resemble my mother's hair FAR too much. *shudder*
* Love, love, love the way they're handling the drawbacks of the tretonin and Teal'c reaction to them. It's nice that it's not a cure-all, and that Teal'c, ever the warrior, is seriously upset at his loss of strength and ability to heal quickly. And YAY for a show that doesn't let life-changing events slip away into nothingness, but rather reminds us that they're still affecting the characters!
* "Colonel O'Neill has officially informed me that I have my 'mojo' back." *snerk*
* I'm discovering that I really like Teal'c episodes. CJ is great.
* Not so pleased with the way that Daniel's amnesia continues to be handled. Nice that he got all his pre-ascension memories back--would it have killed you to show us some of that? The whole being able to remember pre-ascension, but not post-ascension, bit is interesting, though. It makes a certain amount of sense, and I could get to like it.
Overall: Nice eppy. After a very "meh" opening and a semi-"eh" FB, I think S7 is finally getting back into the groove that makes me like the reruns so much. Hooray!
Off to read more HP professor-fic.
