icepixieI was all set to laugh at everyone who got snow today, until I looked at weather.com and realized we're getting that same system tomorrow afternoon. *groan* To be more accurate, we're getting a mixture of snow showers, rain showers, and flurries that extends through Friday. Generalized nastiness, basically. And there's a tornado warning or something at home. Fun times for the not-quite-East Coast!
Something I meant to post Sunday:
So Sunday was our monthly morning at the Humane Society. (We walk dogs and play with cats, essentially.) They had a bunch of new dogs since last I was there. There was some reddish border collie thing named Sarah I wanted to take home with me--she liked to stop every few minutes of the walk for a cuddle or three. Then there was a beagle mix that stopped abruptly in the middle of the walk, put its front paws on my stomach, and decided that a doggie hug ought to last at least five minutes, preferably more. He (she?) would make such a great lap dog.
Then there was the cat house, where a very tiny unnamed black tabby hung out half on my shoulder and half in the hood of my jacket for a good ten minutes. There was some slow strangulation on my part, but she was purring very loudly all the while, so...eh. I think in May, I may have to sneak that one out for my own self, if wherever I end up after graduation allows pets. Or even if they don't.
Then there was Marcy, the cat with abandonment issues. This cat--who is luckily even smaller than the unnamed tabby--firmly believes that the best place to be when a human is around is on top of that human's head, using their hair as a chew toy. My scalp got a bit gnawed on. This cat actually launched herself at the front of my jacket and held on for a good thirty seconds without me touching her--and this is a nylon-type rain jacket, I might add. I think she might actually be part spider.
Anyway. Surely I have something I need to do tonight... *wanders off*
