Also, tell me someone has done a Doctor/Rose vid to "I Wanna Hold Your Hand." It's so obvious. Someone's done it. Right?

BTW, since I have no self-control and can't wait until I get episodes 4 and 5 to keep going in order, I went ahead and watched "Dalek."

- OMG! Goddard is Osiris! Haaaaahahahahahaha! That was bugging me all through the episode until I finally looked her up on IMDB. Ha! Still amused.

- THIS SHOW IS SO SHIPPY, OMG. *cuddles shipper!dalek* *cuddles Doctor/Rose*

- Speaking of Daleks...dude. It's a salt shaker. With a plunger. And an eggbeater. Wow, they really did have a shoestring budget way back when, didn't they?

- Did I mention that this show is more shippy than any show has a right to be? Is it a nationality thing? I shoulda watched more television when I was over in Britain...

- All Van-Whosis's goons attempting American accents and not quite succeeding (or even coming close, in a few cases) were funny. Even Osiris. I imagine Americans attempting various British/Irish/Aussie/etc. accents are just as amusing.

- Speaking of accents, I'm starting to be able to pick out the Welsh accent(s) all the lesser guest stars/extras with one line have. Is Cardiff the European equivalent of Vancouver?

In addition to all that, I finally watched my tape of Atlantis and BSG. Couldn't watch it last night 'cause every TV everywhere was tuned to the Olympic opening ceremonies, and I couldn't find where people were watching Sci-Fi. Sigh. Anyway:

Atlantis

- Eeeeeeee! I'd spoiled myself silly for this one, and it was as good as expected.

- I imagine there have already been lots of vids with that kiss in it, haven't there...hmmm...

- Gun-totin' Lizzie was faaaaaaabulous. Much love.

- Eh, Sheyla. *shrug*

- Deus Ex McKay!

- Ha! That little cringe on the biobed (or whwatever) was great.


BSG

- Oh my God, they killed Billy! Nooooooo! Billy was so sweet and innocent and stupid and in love and oh, Billy... There were tears. There was a lot of "Aaaahhh!" noise.

- And Dee! You fool! I refuse to believe that Dee and Lee is happening, mostly because I can't stand the thought of those rhyming names. Also, Billy had to die right after he found out his girlfriend was cheating on him. Wow, that sucks.

- And wow, I'm glad I don't 'ship Lee/Kara very hard, or otherwise I might have thrown things at the TV during that last bit. Oy.

- So. Sucky day for EVERYONE. Oof.

Believe it or not, I did actually manage to get some reading and some work on my comps done today as well. Unless someone at our editing party tomorrow tells me to revise more, all I have left to do is make a table of contents and I'm all done. Woot! Although tomorrow and Monday I do have lots of reading to catch up on, and my proposal and annotated biblio. is due on Thursday, and I'll probably have to turn in 10 or 20 pages for Fiction a week from Tuesday...

I'm not watching any fo the Olys this year, sadly, as I have too much work/little access to a TV.

But I heard about their throw triple axel, and all I can say is GO, RENA AND JOHN!

the thing that pisses me off about it? and it's partially due to them going first and the new scoring system. But that was a first in Olympic history and they are in 7th place after the short program, wtf.

As for the BSG...I cried and hated to lose Billy too. But it struck me...y'know, on every other show, guy proposes to girl, girl says yes, one of them dies. On this show, guy proposes, girls says no, guy's heart goes boom...and then at the end of the episode they go and make it literally. Gah! But brilliant.

And I am becoming more and more of a Kara/Lee shipper, but I'm thinking Dee/Lee is gonna be a wrinkle for a while first. I think this show has to take a lot of twists on the road...and it does so fairly realistically. Right now I think Lee wants Kara, but can't figure out how she feels (hmm, sounds familiar!), and I can see him going for something less complicated (a little) with Dee in the meantime...plus, I think his White Knight streak will kick in there, feeling like Dee needs the comfort right now. Which is kinda ugh, but makes a sort of human sense. *shrugs*

'Kay! I want to see this vid...in fact, I want to see, oh, any vids...I've found all of four. You'd think there would be more.

With Billy gone, the BSG folks have no real innocent around anymore. That really kind of scares me, especially with all the chaos that's being caused by Sharon's baby.

And yeah, Lee has a White Knight streak. I can see him hanging around Dee for a while because of that.

Unfortunetly a friend sent it to me directly, so I can't find a link online. :?( I might have to burn it to a disc and send it to you!

Yeah...you're right about the lack of innocence on BSG. Even Cally isn't really. There are plenty of idealists and white knights, of course, but that's not the same. Might be a statement they're making, of course, about what happens to innocence in this kind of world...but if so, that'd be a little clumsy to me...I'd rather see how the innocence struggles to survive and compromise.

Excluding the whole crying part, my reactions to Bye Bye Billy were about the same. And I admit to almost cracking a tear at Rosilin's reaction - Adama still has Lee (albeit it in a hospital bed fighting for life, but since i saw him on the previews for next week, I'm assuming he'll be fine), but she has no one left now. Woe for the loss of beloved Billy. ::woes::
