DW Spoilers and Wallpaper

According to Outpost Gallifrey, both David Tennant and Billie Piper are staying for a third season of Doctor Who! Woot! *dances madly* Or at any rate, Billie will be there for at least part of the season. Whatever, S3, yay!

Yeah, rowdycamels and I definitely had a big ol' dancing squeefest when I read that. Us R Geeks in this flat.

Also, I read in the spoiler thread at TWoP that Mickey doesn't come back after the run-in with the Cybermen in episodes 5 and 6, and he isn't showing up after those episodes on the casting lists at OG. Halle-freakin'-lujah. Nothing against the actor, and I don't actively hate Mickey, I just...dislike him. He'd be okay if every other character wasn't more interesting than him. But as it is...I'm glad he's only in four episodes.

Still kinda-sorta freaking out about comps. I feel a bit like I have the constant caffeine level of about 2.5 cups of coffee in my system. THANKS SO MUCH, ENGLISH DEPARTMENT. I was doing much better before that e-mail was sent out. Bah. Although at least I now know that I won't have to write an essay on either George Herbert or William Blake, and can concentrate my remaining two days on reading up some criciticism on Eavan Boland, since whatever poem of hers they pick is undoubtedly what I'll choose to write the essay on, because...dude. Duh.

Seriously, I'm getting hand tremors. I've had to type each sentences in here about three times. (Although I think some of that is due to excitement about the spoilers above. But.)

Saturday. 3:30 PM (or whenever I finish the essay). I am LIVING for that hour right now.

And Mickey - yeah. Not too wild about him but it's not a "hate" either. I'm hoping that S2 will make me like him better.

I know! *squees* That's just made me so happy. Even if Billie only stays for part of S3, that's still better than not at all.

And Mickey - yeah. Not too wild about him but it's not a "hate" either. I'm hoping that S2 will make me like him better.

I'm just kind of hoping he's out of there soon. But I like the idea of Rose being uncomfortable with the situation because she wants to keep the Doctor to herself, and the Doctor mocking her about her annoying not-quite-ex-boyfriend.

I think I'm pushing some of my anxiety over my P&T paper onto comps because they happen sooner, so it's not so much about comps as it is about the next two weeks in general. Also, my mind is strange and thinks that it needs to freak out at least once before a test of this magnitude.

I have to admit, when I saw Mickey was in season 2, my heart sunk. And that was after having only seen him in the ep, Rose. He was just such a flat character. And, after having thought about it, I realised he had to be that way. If he had been this exciting, dynamic character, would Rose have left him for travels with the Doctor?

When we were supposed to think he might have died, it wasn't just the Doctor who didn't seem to care. The audience didn't either. In sharp contrast, in the following episode, there was a sort of sadness for Jabe's heroic death.

Of course, when you set up a character like that, it's possible that you trap yourself into a corner with writing him. Where can you go with him?

I say all this having only seen 3 episodes. We have the return of Ric... er, I mean, Mickey, tomorrow. Saw the preview of the Doctor telling him to shut up or some such last night.

Mickey is just...blah. I haven't seen the next two episodes yet, and I'm not looking forward to his appearance in them. He's in another episode in S1, and he's just as annoying there, IMO.

Watched the first Slitheen ep last night. Mickey seemed a little better in it compared to last time.

Of course, when I commented on this to hubby his response was, "Well, he was plastic."

A bit, I suppose. Although that episode was definitely the low point of the season, IMO. *shudders*
