I was going through my Moonlighting tapes tonight and I made the discovery that Cybill Shepherd's hair at the time looks exactly like mine. Exactly. It's got the whole flat-at-the-top-poofy-at-the-bottom thing going on. Each of my hair's different moods is represented on the show. She even gets the giant hank of hair falling in her eyes and having to brush it out deal. All right, she uses a hell of a lot more hairspray than I do (since I use none, that's not real hard to do), but still--I'm frightened.

Anyway, I did find what I was looking for, which was the episode that was a send-up of Taming of the Shrew, "Atomic Shakespeare." Even counting various Farscape episodes, I still consider that the funniest hour of television I've ever seen. It's just the right mix of source material, pop culture references, series in-jokes, breaking the fourth wall (talking to the audience as the audience), and characterization. The fact that the characters were made for the roles in that play doesn't hurt, either. Every damn line is utterly classic, like these:

"Till we meet again! (Somewhere in the fourth act.)"
"Father, Sister, Padua--goest thou to hell!"
"Nothin' like a night at home, rhymin' with the ol' ball and chain."

Hee. Thank god for Bravo, which syndicated the whole thing daily a few years ago.

(PS: Input is still needed on which icon I should choose! Thanks to those who've already commented. :))
