*sigh* After almost three months of blessed silence, the student population of Kenyon appears to have rediscovered the allstu. (If you have a Kenyon e-mail address, you're able to send a message to the entire 1,500-student student body by sending it to "allstu@kenyon.edu". There are generally between 100 and 200 per day during the academic year, more when someone starts one of those stupid "allstu wars," or if there's (often drunken) discussion of some sensitive issue, i.e. the invasion of Iraq last March. There's a lot of "X Student is turning 20 today, so give her twenty slaps on the ass!" nonsense as well, along with lots-and-founds and ride requests.)
So now I'm actually getting mail at my Kenyon account, this time about cell phone use in Gambier, the Amish around the town, something about Nantucket, some band that's playing in New York City... *rolls eyes* As if I care. The only reason I don't set my account not to receive allstus is 'cause there is, on occasion, something worthwhile that comes through, such as notice of some campus event, job openings and applications, etc. etc. This "something useful" is maybe once a week.
Blarg. I really wish they'd enforce the usage of the message boards they have set up for the ride requests, lost-and-founds, and general discussion.
