akld;ihvwenkd! You can't end there!
Although I suppose a worse place to end it would be right after the Lucy Lawless Cylon (who is she, again? Three?) confronts Boomer with her dream about Hera. That was a serious nail-biting moment there. They really have one of the best wild card characters ever in Boomer. (BTW, was Adama in on the plot to adopt out Hera? I seem to remember that he was, but I'm not totally sure.)
I did enjoy LL Cylon's[1] whole subplot in this one. But I'm a sucker for any Cylon who questions their religion, however briefly. (Witness my love for the atheist Brother Cavil.)
Heh, the previously ons are getting longer and longer each episode. It might be time to think about letting casual viewers sink or swim, 'cause they're probably past the five-minute mark by now. Although this one was put together exceptionally nicely.
Gaius gets greasier with each episode, too. Either give the man some shampoo or kill him already; I don't much care at this point.
Kara being all maternal is FREAKING ME OUT. It's provoking a very visceral OMG CREEPY reaction. I know last week I said I was all for exploring the weirdness inherent in this scenario, but I'm creeped out enough that I take it back. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, STOP IT.
Yay! Laura and Zarek lived! But we knew that from the previews. Still, yay! Loved the way Laura looked up at the sky when she heard that Galactica--and Adama--was coming for them.
...Which means that next week, we're getting off the damn planet! Woo! Although I actually haven't much minded the planet, at least not to the extent I've seen elsewhere online. It's been kind of cool, although I'll be glad to see the ships moving through space again.
Who was the insurgent flunky who looked remarkably like Viggo Mortensen? We haven't seen him before, have we?
I so have nothing of interest to say in response to this show, like, ever. I just sit and go, "Wow, that's awesome," and then comment on frivolous things.

No, it's one of the insurgents; he's human. (Well, presumably. You never know on this show.) He gets, like, three lines, but he's there all the same. Looks strikingly similar to Viggo, IMO.

Date: 2006-10-14 03:16 am (UTC)He's Ladon on Stargate: Atlantis. That's what my random squee was in my journal earlier, haha.
That man is beyond hawt.
It was also really funny watching him talk about traitors and all that when he staged a coup on Atlantis.

2. OH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WHY DO THEY HAVE TO MAKE STARBUCK INTO A MOMMY???? Isn't there a single show on TV that doesn't insist on turning non-maternal women into mothers? WHAT THE HELL??????? *fumes*

I feel like Starbuck might be acting, or something. I have faith that she won't be mommy-like for too much longer. (I really hope so, anyway, 'cause it is CREEPING ME THE HELL OUT.)

Date: 2006-10-14 04:25 am (UTC)Okay first adopt about Hera? They kidnapped her and she Adama was involed but it wasn't his idea. I just hope both him and Roslin come clean before Sharon figures it out.
As someone reminded me last week Kara's relationship with her own mother was on of abusive and abandoment. So it makes sense that after Kasey was hurt she would want to be the mother to her that her mother never was. Leobon is the one that creeps me out. I don't for one second believe that cylon has any feelings for anyone.

Date: 2006-10-14 04:45 am (UTC)I forgot about Kara's mommy issues. But ohgod, something about her interaction with that kid is giving me MAJOR creeps. I feel like I'm overreacting, but I'm over here shuddering off the couch watching her. I hope it all goes away soon.
Yeah, Leoben is almost certainly going to do something horrifying soon in order to further whatever mission he's got going on. But I sort of like the idea of a Cylon besides Sharon who really wants a kid with a human. Might be something for fic.

Date: 2006-10-20 12:34 am (UTC)So do I but I don't think Leoben is it. Leoben only cares about Kasey as a means to an end to get to Kara. And I think he only wants Kara because of his crazy visions that tell him they belong together. There is just something about the way Leoben looked at Kara with Kasey that was so cold.
