That? Was frakkin' awesome.
Since the preview, I had assumed Bulldog was going to turn out to be a Cylon. I was surprised when he turned out not to be, although that didn't prevent them from using him to get at Adama, sort of.
Laura continues to be MADE OF AWESOME. How great was that scene between her and Adama towards the end, with his resignation and her whole not-a-chance-in-hell attitude? And how she made receiving the medal into the punishment he thought he deserved, even after explaining how Bill's actions probably weren't more tahn .00001% of the cause of the invasion? I think this woman could easily manipulate you into throwing yourself out an airlock and thinking it was your idea in the first place. And I loved that little moment where she found Billy's dossier on Adama. *sniff*
Lee's frantic excuse-making for Pappadama was great. They've come such a long way since the mini, oh, yes.
I was...surprised, but not shocked? Shocked, but not surprised? at Bill's actions in the flashback. I think it's probably good that he went for the option that caused more short-term pain and long-term gain, but ow. Ouch.
And Tigh! Tigh managing to kind-of-but-not-really ease back into friendship with Adama, while remaining his gruff bastardy self. Starbuck telling him, rather than someone in the actual chain of command, of her suspicions about Bulldog was weird, though...I feel like that kind of action will blow up in her face pretty soon.
What a relief not to have the Cylons doing mindbendy things for the majority of the episode. They're cool, but they're like James Joyce or Virginia Woolf--a little goes a long way, and they're well nigh incomprehensible on bad days.
Say, can someone who's better at this kind of thing either point me to a link or give me a rundown of how many copies are extant of Six and Three? I know there's the Six in Baltar's head, and there seem to be two more distinct copies running around. One of them was on Caprica (or was in a former body or five), and one of them wasn't? Maybe? I've given up on the Threes. I have no idea how many of them we've seen running around in the last several episodes.
Next episode's in two weeks? Arrrgggh. Bah, Thanksgiving.

Date: 2006-11-19 04:54 am (UTC)Kara and Tigh: I wondered about that myself, why she went to him. Especially when she seemed to be a lot further along in the pulling-herself-together-ness. I have two theories, though...one, that she was afraid PappAdama wouldn't want to believe his guy was compromised (but Tigh knew the guy and would still know how to handle him)...and second, intentionally or unintentionally...perhaps Kara was trying to save Tigh? Certainly that seems to be the effect, or there's the chance now. (I really had thought he was going to spiral into self destruction this season...go all the way, I mean. Now I think he might end up back in a decent place. And I love that, even though he had been one of my least favorite chars.) So yeah...I would love to think that somehow Kara was trying to give Tigh what he needed to respect himself again.
Cylons: The impression I've gotten is that each Basestar has a bunch of all the various 'skinjobs', though we mostly just see the very highest one or two of each, since they're busy with Baltar. (Six AND Three VERY busy, apparently. Yikes.) It makes sense, considering how many copies we saw dying together on the bridge of the infected 'star.

Date: 2006-11-19 10:15 pm (UTC)Cylons: Yeah, I think we do see the very highest echelons, but I'm trying to keep straight which copy of each model that we've seen is which. Like, does Caprica Six's personality still exist, even if in another body? Isn't D'Anna only one of the versions of Three running around? So confusing!
