*sigh*

* "Daniel, go to your happy place." Ha!

* Cute S/J moment in the infirmary. :)

* Question: what sort of weird filter has been used in this episode? Everyone--but especially Jack, Sam, and Teal'c--looks pale and washed-out, even when they're supposed to be perfectly healthy.

And again with the abrupt endings that we've been bitching about on the TrekBBS's General SF/F board. Although not as abrupt as it could've been, which was good. *sigh* It's at times like these that I miss Farscape the most--I try not to compare SG-1 to FS, I really do, because they're two entirely different animals and it's generally pointless to do so, but it really annoys me that--not always, or even usually, more often than I'd like--SG-1 plods along for the first half hour and then crams a bunch of stuff into the second half of an episode, which leaves me with a generally unsatisfied feeling. FS never did that, or if they did, it was so few and far between that it doesn't color my memory of the series at all. The pacing was usually quite even--every minute was equally jam-packed, even the tags. And they did this because some parts of an episode may have been bursting with action, while other parts were bursting with characterization, emotion, or just really cool things to look at. SG-1 doesn't do that. Episodes like this one have it so that you can basically watch the first half with half your brain, but you need both halves for the second part. Of course, this makes it better than 99.9999999% of television, which is lucky if you need a quarter of your brain to make it through an entire episode, but it's still disheartening. And I know that they have done episodes that aren't front- or back-loaded, so I know they can, which makes it all the more frustrating.

In short, I was left sort of cold. I'm gonna watch it again during the second showing, 'cause I think lots of people milling about in the room I was watching TV in (why is it silent as tomb at all other hours of the day besides the one I want to watch TV in, and then parents and dogs all find it impossible to stay out and keep quiet?!) may have distracted me for the first fifteen minutes or so. I think there was a good story lurking underneath the crappy pacing.

Anyway--Jack and Sam were back on the base for the whole ep, pretty much. I predict fic about what they were up to. ;) I wanna read this! *giggle*

Aww, I guess your HarveyKate was sleeping, 'cause there were some great slash lines. < g >

But yeah, I agree with you. Cute S/J moment, but mostly bleh, although I didn't need half of my brain for either part. I spent the time mocking Daniel and Chaka Khan. ;)

*checks on HarveyKate* *hears snoring*

I doubt HarveyKate snores. I bet she moans in her sleep or something. ;)

I am sooooooooo looking forward to watching "Space Race" next weekend with you and everyone else.

Party in our room! :D
