A Tale of Feline Love

On of my aunt and uncle's cats, Becky, likes to sit in their bedroom window and gaze out at the world. Lately, another cat, which we presume is a tom from the nest of cats down the street (seriously, there's at least ten cats that just sort of hang out there) has taken to sitting on the outside of the window while Becky's there. They don't actually sit, I guess; they lie facing the window, nose to nose, staring very intently at each other. According to Alice, Becky purrs and meows while this is going on, and the tom seems pretty thrilled with the whole thing.

Of course, Becky, being old and infirm, can't leave the house, and the tom can't climb the fence they have around their patio/garden area to get in the cat door. So the only contact they will ever have with each other is through the glass barrier of the window.

Poor star-crossed lover kitties...
