Jan. 23rd, 2007 10:21 pmIn the Canadian TV industry, the six degrees game needs to be shortened to two degrees, or at most three.
I used to be a big fan of Forever Knight, which was about vampires before Buffy made it cool. You know how in my last post on Slings and Arrows, I mused on how Paul Gross reminds me a bit of Geraint Wyn Davies? Imagine my surprise when I begin to watch season two and find Geraint Wyn Davies asGilderoy Lockheart Henry Breedlove!
I swear, these people are as incestuous as the BBC stable.
So, the curse is fun. Oliver and Geoffrey continue to be fun. So do Maria and Anna, who are probably my favorite characters. They strike me as the two who actually know what they're doing more than 75% of the time, and their deadpans both crack me up.
The Geoffrey/Ellen thing was sweet while it lasted, but I knew the moment it started that it wasn't long for this world. Lo and behold, by the end of 2x03, they're kaput. Whether that lasts is anyone's guess, I suppose. I like Ellen more this season; she's gotten noticibly less bitchy, possibly because we don't have to see her with Sloane anymore. (Yeah, that was funny, but the joke was starting to wear thin. I'm glad they got rid of him, even if it was...abrupt.)
Speaking of abrupt, whoa, way to get rid of Kate and Jack! Not that I mind, because while Kate had her moments, and while Jack's dude-speak interpretation of Hamlet was funny, they were both a little drippy. It was an okay contrast to the antics of everyone else, but...I can live without them pretty easily. I hope Sarah and Patrick aren't too much like them. Or if they are, that we don't focus on them. Then again, we have Henry to take some screentime from them...
Everything about Froghammer is cracking me up. Poor Richard. You need to grow a spine. (I've never read Richard II or Richard III, and it's been many years since I saw III, but I'm guessing that Richard's name was, uh, not chosen by chance.) The gift exchange between him and Anna was so sweet, though! Twin executive stress balls! Aw! ...I kind of 'ship them now. I feel a tiny bit dirty.
Hmmm. I need an S&A icon. I should get on that...
ETA: Finished the season. (It's not hard, they're only six episodes long.) Everything's going to go straight to hell in 3x01, isn't it? Awwww.
