BSG 3.20: Crossroads, Part 2
Mar. 25th, 2007 10:11 pm- Heeeey, it's Claudia Black on The Dresden Files! I didn't even recognize her voice without the Aussie accent. But that smile is very distinctive.
- ARE ROSLIN AND ADAMA NOT THE CUTEST THING EVER?! AWWWWWW!!!
- So Anders is dealing with Kara's death by trying to have two girlfriends? Okay.
- Dude, they had all three of the remaining female characters in a room together. That should happen more often. That was far too brief.
- I knew Baltar was going to walk! Lee did make a good case on the stand, reminding everyone of the general pardon. But now that he's free, Baltar will undoubtedly find a way to screw humanity over one more time. That's who he is. If only everyone knew about the Harvey!Six in his head, and how she causes him to be traitorous, they might have a different outlook...
- Can we have an episode that consists entirely of scenes between EJO and MM? God, they're awesome together. Especially when they disagree.
- So Tigh, Chief, Anders and Tori are...especially adept at hearing radio signals from Earth? (BTW, thank goodness for closed captioning. If I hadn't had it on, I wouldn't have recognized that it was a non-original song.) I think if they really were Cylons, there'd be, you know, very little question of it in their minds.
- I liked having lots of scenes in CIC again for once. Felt like old times.
- Deus Ex Kara! I knew from the moment Lee saw a bogey on his dradis that it was going to be her. Didn't think she was going to show them to Earth. Kind of wish she didn't. Would have been much more satisfying if they'd spent an episode or two on interpreting the signs pointing to Earth and then finally, via their own intelligence, getting there, rather than having Starbuck show up all magical. Hmph.
- Well, from the placement of North America, it looks like they've hit Earth at some relatively modern point...
- Hrm. The trial ending was good, but everything else felt like yet more setup. Next season (OMG, in 2008) had better have some damn payoff. Trying to integrate the fleet into Earth society would be pretty good payoff. Hint, hint.

Date: 2007-03-26 03:30 am (UTC)No kidding. I'm honestly a liiiitle bummed that he walked. Actually, I'm just more annoyed at how the whole motion to declare mistrial didn't end with the decision about a mistrial; it just ended with sentencing. WTF. I don't care what galaxy they're in, THAT JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN. (Sorry. I'm a lawyer's kid.)

I'm not convinced they're cylons myself. It would be cool of Cheif and Anders were, I suppose. But Tigh? Well, that's irony, but it's almost too blatant, really. And Tori, I definitely didn't suspect that, so I suppose it makes for a good twist, but I'm just not convinced.

Agreed on all counts. However, I'm sure (or at least, I hope) they'll find a way to nonetheless make it interesting. There HAS to be a way.
And really, 2008??? What's with this 2008 business??? That's nearly 8 1/2 months away!

Date: 2007-03-27 12:59 am (UTC)I think, based on the evidence that the colonials have and the general pardon, they probably couldn't have justified anything else. BUT, if they knew everything (him and Six on Old Caprica, the nuke, etc.), he would've been airlocked faster than you can say "scumball."

That did seem...really stupid.

My current favorite theory is that "we're all Cylons" means everyone in the fleet is a Cylon. That would be way more of a mindfrak than those four, particularly since they telegraphed it so much last week.
I've seen speculation that they (and whoever the Final Fifth is--Starbuck? Roslin?) are members of some kind of pro-human Cylon faction, which would be kind of cool as well.

I'm curious to see if they've brought the Cylons to Earth's doorstep, or if Earthlings will kick them to the curb, or what.

I guess they wanted time to make it good? Or something?
