Wow, I haven't posted in a week. I R boring.

Yay, it's the weekend! Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get as much work done on my Cupid/dS fic done as I did last Sunday, when I wrote 1,100 words in one afternoon/evening. (Sadly, in the 4.5 days since then, I've written, er, 400.)

Shut up, 1,000+ words in a single day is a great figure for me, at least since I left college. (Hmmm. Note to self: Find job that includes writing of more than just e-mails.)

I watched a couple episodes of Cupid the other day so that I could get Trevor's voice back in my head. (Of course, now the trick may be getting him to leave...) Every time I watch one of these episodes--and I've seen each of them at least three times now--all I can think is, "ABC! You foolish fools! How could you not see the AWESOMENESS of this show??? In addition to the fabulous premise, I'm worried that my computer screen is going to burst into flame from the UST whenever Paula Marshall and Jeremy Piven are onscreen together!"

Sigh.

I think, after nearly three years, I'm in need of a new mood theme. I enjoy the heck out of my Wonderfalls theme, but it might be time to move on to another fandom. Anyone got links for shareable due South or Slings & Arrows themes? Although I'm thinking about making the S2 DVDs of S&A my response to my mother's question of whether I could buy something from Amazon to help her get up to $25 (and thus free shipping) on her order, so I could just make my own, I suppose. Hmmm.

The Tennessean has put up several hundred Nashville photos from the past century here. I imagine most of you will have no interest, but I thought I'd put it up for the two flisters I have who are from here. It's rather fascinating to watch the city I know take shape over the years--as well as to see what was there before I was around. I find the way the utility poles have multiple crossbars--to support the now unheard-of telegraph wires and/or power lines for the electric trolleys, which have now been replaced with busses--up until the 50s or 60s to be very cool.

Definitely not, because, er, I don't think I saw more than one or two episodes on Fox. (Unless that's all Fox aired? Unlikely, I'm sure, but this is Fox, so you never know...)

Centralia is truly a creepy place. When I was there, walking along the stretch of highway where the road's cracked and the smoke comes out (which is, quite literally, taking your life into your hands, because there's no way to tell where the road is safe and where it will just cave in under you, and I just don't imagine that's a pleasant way to die), it felt like we were on the set of a TV disaster movie. The "Amityville Horror" church, as capax11 and I called it, is no longer there, from what I've seen online, so you'll miss that part of the experience (I'm sure it was a lovely church in its time, but when you pull up to it just past twilight and you're in a ghost town, and this church is lit up and bright white as the clouds go by behind it, well... St Ignatius or no, it's gonna remind you of a horror flick). Still, people go to check it out.

It's been at least 6 or 7 years since I was there the second time, maybe even 10, but it's a seriously weird thing, going there. Weirdest thing, IMHO, are the people who refuse to leave (and their row houses, which are held up by brick pylons that replace the houses no longer on either side), and the signs saying things like "Centralia" inside a big heart.

Just watched the video and have to say that that's exactly the way Centralia looked when I was there. Same weather and everything. And the white trees are creepy, because they've burned up from the inside out, and yet somehow, they're still alive. When we were there, it was autumn, and the leaves were beautiful, but attached to these white trees. V.v.v creepy.

And there are complete nutters, probably local high school kids, who climb the hill beside Rt 61 and drink. There were a lot of empty beer bottles at the bottom of the hill on the other side, and I honestly wouldn't have been at all surprised to see a skeleton down there as well.

I was surprised when someone based a movie on it. Never seen Silent Hill, don't think I ever will, but...wow.

I kind of want to see SH. Kind of. Like, if it were on TV, I'd watch it, but I don't think I'd actually pay money to rent it.

Wonderfalls: There were thirteen episodes produced. Fox aired four of them. Even with only four, it aired them out of order. *rolls eyes*

I think the people who refuse to leave Centralia have maybe had their brains scrambled by the toxic fumes from the fire. ;) I think if I were to go there, I'd stand on a safeish part of that buckled road and use my camera's zoom to take a look at the more crumbly parts. *g*
