OMG. I just learned at the loonie hit $1.10 US this week. (It's back at $1.06 now, according to XE.)

*checks to make sure this isn't an alternate universe*

Note to self: get hired by a Canadian company. Hammer out salary in Canadian dollars. Remain resident in US.

it's cool, man. our imports are on the down and our exports are heading up, so the whole devaluation thing will all even out in the wash if the entire world doesn't go OMGWTF DOLLAR LOSING VALUE. :)

Heh. That's what I'm worried about; I've heard rumors (probably just scare-mongering) that China is going to get out of the whole business of holding Us dollars any day now...

Well, if they did that it would hurt them as well. They've kept their exchange rate at an unfair level, and their current account surplus is a huge problem. No matter what, the devaluation their existing huge stock of us dollars in foreign exchange reserves is a drain on their wealth :( I guess we'll have to see how it plays out.
