Update! (Since, I er, read the whole thing this afternoon. It's only 300 pages.)
It takes a while to get going, but when it does, it's quite good. It's got time travel and cryogenics, and also a cat. Oh, and a mildly creepy bit at the end where the main character (~thirty years old) is kind of interested in an eleven-year-old girl, whom he marries later when the magic of cryogenics has reduced their age difference to ten years. BUT ANYWAY.
I liked it aside from that weirdness. It had a sort-of mystery, and enough action and gadgets to keep me interested. (And apparently Heinlein predicted the Roomba? And AutoCAD software? And lots of other robotic doohickeys? It was pretty nifty, actually.)
