icepixie: (Caprica go boom)

- Pretty ships! ...Ugly wig. Poor Laura.

- So...Laura, about those Bushish tendencies you seem to be having with increasing frequency. You should perhaps seek help for that.

- Natalie, that was so not the time to ramble on about how Hera must be so awesome. Let's stick to business here.

- Oh, dear. OH, DEAR.

- Whoops. Now Adama probably suspects Tigh of Cylonitude...

- "So which one of them shot Gaeta?" HEH. They had so much fun with the dramatic irony in this episode.

- Poor, poor Tigh. Now he'll do anything to keep the Threes boxed.

- Mmmm, self-assisted genocide (since they can't breed except with humans). Fun times!

- Oh, GAETA! *squishes him*

- Roslin seemed awfully happy about the "mortal" part of the phrase "mortal enemies."

- Poor, poor Tigh.

- BWAH! Okay, I laughed for a long time at that conversation between Laura and Tori. Roslin is a very perceptive lady.

- OUCH. Sucks to be Tori, I guess.

- Hmmm...I was thinking that the song Gaeta was singing would probably be something from our planet, but Google appears to say it's not. Does this confirm he isn't a Cylon?

- Hmmm...something about that show for the Quorum made me wonder if Natalie would eventually become the dying leader--just her talk about the nature of mortality vs. immortality, and the general feeling of the scene. Of course, she died ten minutes later, so perhaps not.

- Hello, Baltar!

- Okay, Hera is officially creepy. Gah.

- I have "Everyone's a Cylon!" written here. I don't remember what that refers to.

- Kara is being...strangely helpful and nice there. Hmm.

- Searider Falcon...is that the book Adama was reading aloud from a few episodes ago? The way the camera stayed on it, it looks like it'll be significant later on...

- DUN DUN DUN. Heh, I think Laura managed to freak out Baltar there.

- Why does no one seem to care that the kid's missing and her mother's running around looking for her? No one can stop to help her search? Or at least make some kind of shipwide announcement to be on the lookout for a creepy little girl?

- "Let God's will be done."/"Shut up." Heh.

- Urk! Natalie! You were my favorite Six, too! *mourns*

- Raise your hand if you didn't think that plugging in the Hybrid would immediately result in an FTL jump. *crickets* Didn't think so.

So that was...full. Almost hard to keep up with at times. We returned to the opera house, which I liked, and saw Baltar in the vision, which was interesting. I wonder what Athena is going to make of that, once the murderous haze wears off. I noticed that Laura--and presumably Athena--also dreamed of the Hybrid. I guess they already knew it was in the fleet, but that's still interesting.

My speculation is that if and when they get back to the fleet--assuming the Hybrid didn't take them to Earth--Roslin is going to plot and plot and plot and eventually commit Cylon mass murder. She's...actually turning into a rather unlikable character now, although she has her reasons. (I might do the same in her position, weeks or months from death and not able to rest easily until the mission is accomplished. But--and I can't believe I'm saying this--good on Lee for confronting her about that. I'm kind of thinking civil war here soon.)

Tigh is going to go absolutely crazy over the next few weeks trying to hide his identity and keep them from unboxing Three. Poor, poor Tigh. Although it is highly amusing. :D

This might be slightly spoilery for the preview, but...

did I see the briefest shot there of Lee raising his right hand and appearing to swear some kind of oath? Perhaps the oath of office? Now there's a nightmare.

So what song was Gaeta singing? I couldn't hear the text too well since I was on the train, though lordy, he's got a nice voice! I thought of you the whole time he was on screen, because I kept thinking "Hmm, maybe she was right, 'cause something is definitely up with our boy Gaeta..." (I also noticed how little we've seen of Dee lately--I was surprised when she actually showed up for, what, two lines in this ep?)

Roslin!Bush is scary, for real. Eep. I wonder if Adama will continue to go along with her. Which one of them is Cheney and which is Bush? Of course, neither of them are clueless enough really to be Bush.

I keep trying to figure out what the point of the Cylons is, overall. Seems to me that they've got to be serving some bit mythic/Jungian purpose. The scene with Natalie (did they ever call her that onscreen or did we all just pick it up from the Last Supper photo?) saying that being mortal is what makes humans whole is the one that really has me wondering.

If we created the Cylons, they rebelled, but took on our image, they could just be reflections of us, or they could be higher lifeforms, or both, I suppose. Then there's the fact that they can't have children on their own, so they need humans (speaking of which, are there repercussions of The Farm, like, ever?)--and I was struck by the religious comparison when looking at Madonna And Child paintings at the National Gallery the other week. (Not just the needing-a-human-to-procreate angle, but also the "created in his image" bit--are we god, or were we just playing god, or...??)

So just what the heck is the deal there, and will it ever be revealed for sure, since there are so many possibilities? /senseless babbling
