Ole! With bagpipes!
May. 16th, 2008 11:58 pmI just bought an album from a group called Berrogüetto (Viaxe por Urticaria...which sounds like it means "Journey Through Hives," but I'm guessing there's a place called Urticaria somewhere...), who are a Galician folk band. It's pretty awesome, actually; think bagpipes and flamenco coming together. You can stream four songs by them here.
Interestingly, I had originally thought that Galician was a dialect of Spanish (since Galicia is an area of Spain), but it turns out that it's much more closely related to Portuguese. (Not that any of those three languages are very far apart on the grand scale of things, but still.) It looks pretty, too. I wanna go.
