Haha, they added bells to the themesong for the Christmas episode of
Corner Gas!
...Oh, shut up. After FOUR. FREAKING. HOURS. of reading Puritan nonsense, I'm finding just about everything funny right now.
However,
this is just
disturbing.

Date: 2008-09-14 04:57 am (UTC)I chortle EVERY TIME I even think about the surveillance bush.
I'm not sure I'm ready to go looking for fic yet, but the fact that it's mostly Davis/Karen surprises me a little. I would've guessed Brent/Lacey first.
I was shocked, I tell you. Maybe it's because the Brent/Lacey thing pretty much had its death knell at the end of S1/beginning of S2. (Not to say that some fanfic writers don't flog the dead horse after that kind of thing happens...) I personally was expecting a lot of gen--it still seems weird to ship anyone on that show, because nothing ever changes in Dog River. But there's also a surprising amount of Karen/Lacey slash. (I would've expected Lacey/Wanda if anything...)
Oh, I hope so! One more would be great.
I found this article about S6, which filmed this summer. It'll be 19 episodes, and then it's over for real. Although I've seen a couple of interviews with Brent Butt where he's said he has a couple movie ideas kicking around in his head. That would be awesome, but I wonder if such a thing would even get shown down here...

Date: 2008-09-14 05:10 am (UTC)Thanks for the article! I had no idea it was such a success in Canada, but I'm glad to hear it; maybe we'll get the movie after all. Man, now I can't wait for season six :D

Date: 2008-09-14 05:30 am (UTC)Not much of it. I saw "Census Sensibility" (the one where Lacey thinks Davis and Karen are dating--hee!) and whichever one it is where Davis, Brent, and Oscar go camping. I've pretty much seen S1, S2, and bits and pieces of 3-5 at the moment.
There's an ep late in the season that has a lot of Karen/Lacey focus, so maybe some of it comes from that.
Ahhh.
I think I'd love gen fic for the show, though. Maybe this year I could finally get off my butt and do Yuletide, just so I could request some.
There are a couple from last year's Yuletide up. One has a smidge of Karen/Wanda slash (...I don't know); the other is entirely gen--unless you squint, and then it's almost-but-not-really Hank/Wanda. Apparently Wanda got around last year.
I had no idea it was such a success in Canada
Oh, gosh, it's huge up there, or so I hear. I got the impression it's just about the only homegrown non-sketch comedy show that competes with American imports at all. (Well, maybe Little Mosque on the Prairie competes now as well. I want to check that out some day...)

Wheee!
