After five days with it, I've decided that I quite like this length for my hair. It actually looks almost exactly like early S4 Sam hair (those eps when it was sort of wavy), except without the weirdness with the bangs. Had bangs until I was thirteen; intend to never have them again.

I've taken a page from [livejournal.com profile] liloleme5's Leaning Tower of Pratchett, and now have a Leaning Tower of Stuff That's Going Back To School With Me beside the TV in the den. I'm not entirely certain how it's all going to fit into the boxes I have for it, but I'm sure I'll get it all in there. I think I have everything I can conceivably do without for the next week packed, with the exception of winter clothes. (All clothes kind of get thrown on top of everything else in the car the morning we leave. Works nicely, IMO.)

Have noticed an abundance of Princess Bride and Labyrinth icons popping up around LJ-land. Welcome to my personal hell, people.

(For non-Farscape-Shippers listmembers, I am famous on-list for my dislike of TPB. I am slightly less famous for my dislike of Labyrinth and David Bowie in general. The concept of "Twue Wuv" makes me want to retch.)

Would have tow ar anyone on the staircases to clear out, I suppose...

Just use the window. And if something went wrong and the glass was shattered or something then no one would be surprised. After all, Windows breaks all the time. :)

*slaps Nick for that horrible pun* *beats head against desk* *snickers in spite of herself*

It's a pun about Windows sucking. I deserve no violence against me for it.

Alas, the window in my room this year is about the size of a postage stamp, so I don't think I could fit anything in it.

You could fit a postage stamp in it.

Much as I appreciate the sentiment, it's still a groan-worthy pun.

Groan-worthy, yes. It's the slap that I'm appealing. That part was entirely undeserved. Anyway, it's better to conserve your strength for the really bad puns.

*snort* Thank you, Captain Obvious.

You're welcome. Hey, I'm a captain! I didn't even need military experience!

Much as I groaned at it, I did still laugh at the pun. *takes back slap*

Yay! I should be a lawyer! And a captain! And a fireman!

Sorry, not sure what got into me there. I think I'm channeling Cosmo from Fairly Oddparents.

Arrr! Aye, Captain! (Sorry. Just saw Pirates again; am in pirate-y mood. But hey, it's a way to get captain w/o military experience, technically, anyway...)

There's one thing I just plain can't stand about that movie. None of the pirates say, "Arr, matey!" How can you have a pirate movie without that?

Captain Spleen, lawyer for the fire department? *shrug* It could happen.

I love the Land of Make Believe. While I'm there I also want to pick up a degree in retrofrenology.

*smiles and nods, 'cause she has no idea what Fairly Oddparents are*

The greatest thing ever on Nickelodeon. Now I watch a lot of cartoons (big surprise there), but that's one of the very best. I've gotten Natalie and Kate hooked on it, I'll get you too.

Captain Barbosa says "Arrrr!" (but not "Arr, matey!") to Elizabeth when she's attempting to stab him/get away from him at that dinner she went to. And Will did the "avast!" thing, which earned him an eye roll from Jack. Heh.

Well Barbosa was halfway there but halfway just isn't far enough. But I'll give Will credit for "Avast!" I think he could have added a "matey" as well. If you haven't noticed I'm pretty prejudiced about pirates. I'm disappointed if less than half of the conversation on a pirate ship consists of some form of "Arr, matey."

There's a pun in there. I just have no idea what it is.

No pun. Pratchett reference. I'm rereading Men At Arms.

Oh, God! The last thing I need is another TV show to suck up my time! *screams*

When it's Fairly Oddparents it's the first thing you need. :) Great show. 10 year old boy gets fairy godparents and insanity ensues. Lots of puns. And spleens. Great show.

Huh. Well, you could re-write it and set a character on the ship whose sole purpose is to go, "Arr, matey." That could be entertaining.

Note to self: send a letter to Jerry Bruckheimer and suggest that character. He could be comic relief. It'll be great. And then Jack can stab him in the spleen.

Aaaaah. I see.

In general if it's not a pun it's going to be a Pratchett reference. Actually, a small percentage of the puns are also Pratchett references.

Oh, lord...

You'll watch it. It's just a matter of time.

Hee! I wanna see Jack stab him in the spleen!

And then Will can do the Dance of Joy. Because that would be hilarious.

When's it on? I betcha I have class then.

It's on Nickelodeon so it is kind of shown randomly throughout the week and weekend. But it is on Friday nights at 8 PM CT as well as Saturday mornings (not sure what time).

Heeeee. Yes, it would.

I thought you'd appreciate knowing that while coming back from a baseball game tonight with a couple of my friends PotC came up. Strangely it was myself and my friend Brian who were talking about how great it is while the sole female, Carolyn, confessed to not seeing it yet (but she wanted to). Brian was a big Jack fan (as is everyone). I'm just happy to know of at least one other guy who has seen and loved it.

See? Stargate's on then. Although they're on hiatus until January at the moment.. And I never get up before 10 on Saturdays if I can help it, so I doubt I'd be up to catch it then.

Watch it during Stargate's hiatus. You'll love it. It's just insane enough.

I would think a lot of guys would like it. Not enough buckle in the swash?

The problem is that I don't know any guys online and online friends are the people I talk to most during the summer. I'm sure I'll find more males who like it during the semester, though.
