icepixieMom and I went to see Pirates today (first time for her, second for me), hence the return of the Pretty!Jack icon. Hooray for movies that hold up to multiple rewatchings. And hooray for ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
nuclearangel, who sent me my very own Jack The Monkey! Okay, so it's actually a lovely lavendar plush monkey that has the velcro patches on his extra-long arms so he can clip on to stuff, but hey, it's a monkey, so it's Jack!
Anyway, seeing the movie again has made me want to return to this vague "pirates in space" idea that I keep getting, and maybe this time actually do something about it. Granted, so not fitting with my one-vignette-a-day idea for this week (have only done one because I'm lazy; it sucks anyway), but Muse is bitching about doing it, and I may just listen to her. No idea what to do with it, but most of my original fic sounds overwrought and melodramatic if I try to make it serious, so it'll most likely end up being at least somewhat comedic, whatever it turns into.
Finally, does anyone know of anything interesting to do in Columbus, Ohio? We're driving up Sunday (eight hours in a van, wheeeee), hanging out in Columbus Monday, and moving me in Tuesday. I should know more about the city given that I live an hour from it when I'm at school, but hey, I can count on one hand the number of times I actually went there last year--dinner and Chicago with my hall, and to see an exhibition at Igor's studio with some ballroomers, plus that afternoon with my parents before moving in and the morning before flying back for Thanksgiving. I guess if we don't find anything interesting, I can always show my parents around the campus, and dodge orientating freshmen...
Ugh. That means I only have three more days to pack. I thought I'd dragged out most of my stuff, but it turns out that no, I only have about a third or fourth of my stuff packed. Sigh. Must decide what books to bring...
