Johnny Depp as Alice's Mad Hatter
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH. NIGHTMARES. NIGHTMARES, I TELL YOU.
(Also, um, I hear there will be older!Alice/Hatter ship, because it's not so much a remake as a sequel of sorts. Between that and the picture I think I need to go lie down now and then attempt to pick up the shattered pieces of my childhood.)

But then why wouldn't Alice be twelve, and why would the Hatter's role have expanded enough to give it to a celebrity like Depp? I'm not sure what to think. Aside from thinking the Hatter costume makes him look like a drag queen, anyway.

Me too.

And I probably go see it because I am a sucker for Burton-esque aethetics even if I never find his movies all that good.

I have a feeling that, considering the actress is eighteen or so and I definitely don't remember a sailing ship from either of the books, they're leaving much of the book behind for this...
