Luckily it's on the outside of the window and not the inside. Although I have my own problems with the inside. (Namely, CONDENSATION OMG. All twelve panes on each window are regularly three-quarters to all the way covered in dew much of the day. I have definitely got some mold colonies here and there. I combatted it today by doing what the internets told me--opening all the windows that aren't painted or warped shut for twenty minutes, then raising the blinds all the way instead of just twisting them open. It did clear up like magic, but I dislike the idea of having artic air running through the apartment every day. Also, it still hasn't really warmed back up yet. Perhaps just raising the blinds will help...although that presents its own problems, since I can pretty much feel wind gusts through the freakin' glass, and the blinds helped somewhat with that. Oh, well...)

These are the new ones, a primrose and a bromeliad.
Here are all my plants together. (Ignore the mess on the tables. I'm having a bit of a reading crisis right now.) I inherited a new plant stand, so I could move the little one in the window from my kitchen to a better spot. I think it'll enjoy the light.

As to the windows... huh. What causes that condensation? Are the windows double-paned or something?
I read that condensation is usually caused by the building being too well-insulated and thus "too humid" (over 40%), but that is laughable here. These windows leak like sieves. They're single-paned, too, although granted the ones where the window is pushed partway up to accomodate a window air conditioner are worse. I guess it's just the radiator heat causing the extra humidity. Which I am not opposed to, as it means I haven't been itchy and flaking like I am at home in the winter. I guess I just have to live with it...
I find that keeping my curtains closed (especially at night) keeps the random breezes down a lot.
Well, these curtains are a PITA to close, so I leave them open and make do with blinds. (Also, I have all these windows, so I might as well use them for natural lighting...) And apparently having less covering ont he window enables condensation relief? I don't understand, but it was proved this morning, so whatever.
Having a little space heater blowing warm air on your feet does wonders, too.
Ha ha. Heat is something I reeeeeally do not have a problem with here when I turn up the radiators...
