I might have an opinion on this if I knew who Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan was. Help?

You haven't been introduced to Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan novels? Be still, my heart! You are in for a treat.

The novels begin with Aral and Cordelia Vorkosigan, but most of them focus on their son Miles. Who is awesome. In fact, all of them are awesome, and Cordelia may be one of my most favorite characters ever. She kicks ass, she's smart as hell, she knows how to manipulate people and work the political system on a planet that's sort of like imperial Russia, and she's a great mother, which you never see. And the books can be FUNNY AS HELL, too. Bujold narrates with and gives many of her characters a wonderful dry wit that just cracks me up.

It starts with Shards of Honor, which tends to come bundled with the sequel, Barrayar, as Coredlia's Honor these days. (The "shopping trip" in my post is a reference to something that happens in Barrayar...I won't spoil it, but there's a treason tvtropes.org has it listed under "Crowning Moment of Awesome.") Then the Miles books start with Warrior's Apprentice and continue on from there. There are twelve out now, and apparently another one coming in 2010.

(Don't let the fact that the first one starts out as Star Trek fanfic with the serial numbers filed off deter you. It grows totally awesome at the end, and the rest of them just get better and better.)

I only vaguely know who Cordelia Naismith Vorkosigan is, but I know enough to totally agree that it would be an awesome crossover.

Well, so says Wikipedia, anyway. We'll see how true it is. I just hope it's an improvement of Diplomatic Immunity, which I found disappointing.

I enjoyed Diplomatic Immunity but I like the books set on Barrayar much more. I'm just excited there's *more*. :)

I don't really remember much about DI, except that I wanted more Cordelia&Aral, and I still hadn't totally warmed up to Ekaterin yet. (I seem to recall that "Winterfair Gifts" hadn't been published yet, and that was what made me like her, and her/Miles, more.)

But yeah, more of any kind is good. :)
