- I feel like I should care about Sheridan and Delenn's burgeoning romance, but...I don't. Whoops.
- Franklin is using a lot of stims. DUN DUN DUN DUN.
- I so want to know what Delenn and Lennier were saying in Minbari after Sheridan left. Probably that he had left so quickly because he didn't like the flarn.
- That dinner was obviously a Passover seder in disguise, down to the place set for Valen/Elijah. Between that, the three castes, and the comment someone made a few episodes back about either the Minbari as a whole or certain Minbari, I forget which, as "wanderers," I'm wondering if they're analogous to Jews in the way the Centauri are like the imperial Romans.

AHHHHHHH. I knew Talia was going to break Ivanova's heart. KNEW. IT. Damn you, Talia! I thought you two were so sweet earlier in the episode, too! (But that scene at the end gave me a reason to say, "Damn you, Claudia!" again. Bwa!)
I now wish I hadn't been spoiled for the episode, because it would've been even better if it were all a surprise. As it was, Ivanova telling Sheridan about her latent telepathy still jerked a tear from mine eye. Poor, scared Susan.
Although even if I hadn't been spoiled, I like to think I would've been tipped off by the telepath from S1 being all, "How did you know I was scanning you? You can't know that! Unless..." That was pretty obvious.
(I wonder, though, given that she and Talia were fairly obviously having sex or about to get there, wouldn't Talia have found out eventually? Given her babble last season about how telepaths bond mentally when they have sex, wouldn't it hold true for her and Susan, and then the jig would be up? Of course, Susan might not have known that, although it seems like information she would've picked up at some point. Hmmm.)
I know...certain things...about...a certain character...so in...a certain scene...I was horrified that my information was wrong and that plot development was starting much earlier than I had heard. Of course, it might inform on how the attempted murderer knew where Lyta would be, and also how to make the lights go dim. Assuming the murderer was not in fact Talia, who had just learned all the details from touching Susan without gloves. (I've been working on getting two people on my flist to start watching the show, and I know at least one of them isn't spoiled, so I'm hoping that was vague enough to keep that plot development in the shadows.)
Why isn't Talia going off to prison for shooting the two guards? Not enough evidence against her? I guess there's also not enough evidence to publicize the PsiCorps sleeper program and get it shut down, either. Argh, conspiracies.
Was Sheridan's dream with Ivanova and the raven really just all about her latent telepathy?
- I liked the newspaper scene at the beginning. I doubt people will still be reading paper newspapers in the future, but the personalized editions were nifty. And heh, Delenn inherited human curiosity.
- It rather looked like that guy who picked up the crystal on Syria Planetum had a Fellowship of the Ring insignia on his chest...
- I was flashing back hard to the hunt for Cylons in the fleet when Lyta was talking to the command staff in Sheridan's office. Heh.
- Delenn is a lot more convincing at falling in love than Sheridan, who is just too wooden in those scenes for my taste. The conversation about "butt" was funny in and of itself and because of Delenn, but he added nothing. *sigh*
- When Lyta sees Kosh outside of his encounter suit, might the beating sound have been that of wings, because Kosh is an angel? Hey, it's a legend...

Oh, Susan. I want to give her a teddy bear. And a hug. And a few gallons of vodka.

Re: seder, you might find the last post on this page (http://jmsnews.com/forums/archive/index.php?t-316.html) interesting. The whole page is actually an interesting discussion. It relates to the Legend of the Rangers movie, which...I'm not actually sure I've ever seen (probably got it on a tape somewhere, though). It looks to me like the posts are all about fairly general Ranger/Minbari stuff, so I don't think you'd spoil yourself for anything, really.
OT re: Talia--did you know she became a news anchor on CNN for a while? Always made me do a double-take when I saw her on there. Not sure what she's up to lately.
If you're avoiding spoilers, don't read this!
Date: 2009-03-22 03:27 am (UTC)It involves Garibaldi and the alternate personality Bester puts into him in...S4, I think? I don't know the details, and I don't want to google for them, because that got me into trouble the other day when I was hunting for something else. (I found out Sinclair is Valen. I wish I hadn't found that out.)
Re: seder, you might find the last post on this page interesting.
Hmmm.

I saw on her Wikipedia page that she had done that (now apparently she's back in acting, but nothing I've seen). When I saw that, I thought, "Well, that would suit her much better! She'll just have to read a teleprompter!"
I'm a bad person. Perhaps she's better in other roles.
Re: If you're avoiding spoilers, don't read this!
Date: 2009-03-22 03:30 am (UTC)Okay, it's been a while, but would I not remember this???
I wish I hadn't found that out.
OMG!! Okay, STOP GOOGLING NOW. Just read the page on the Lurker's Guide for each episode and learn to be happy with it. Otherwise...you have only yourself to blame.
You're not a bad person. It's something of a wonder to me that she gets acting gigs.
I have to confess that I honestly wish you'd waited until May to start your journey through the series, because I would have loved to be watching all these with you. And I won't have time until then, and by now, you're not gonna wanna slow down. :(
Re: If you're avoiding spoilers, don't read this!
Date: 2009-03-22 04:25 am (UTC)I got the impression it was a season-long plot development, so...maybe you blocked it because it was painful? It sounds painful. Poor Garibaldi.
OMG!! Okay, STOP GOOGLING NOW.
Yeeeah, I decided to stop after that one. I was only trying to check something for my list of LOTR correspondances, and it was in the same paragraph!
Otherwise...you have only yourself to blame.
I'm actually not sure what else big there is that I'm missing. In very rough order, I know that B5 breaks away from a very corrupt Earth, Garibaldi is taken over by Bester (but it ends well?), Marcus dies for Ivanova via the healing device and she gets her own starship, and there are inevitable space battles with the Shadows. Sheridan goes to Z'ha'dum to die and returns as a godlike figure, becomes president of the Interstellar Alliance (not totally sure what that is), marries Delenn, has a son with her, grows a really ugly beard, and is fated to die in twenty years, at which time someone named Lorien will let him into
the Undying Landswhatever lies beyond the rim. That Sinclair is Valen (and thus that he went back in time many thousands of years on B4) plays into the war somehow, but I don't know how. Lyta shows up at some point, and there's a telepath war, although I don't know the players in that one. I'm pretty sure there's more of a connection between Shadows and Vorlons than just that they're both First Ones, and I think it ties into this Lorien guy, but I don't know how.I think that's it. But yeah, I've got the broad strokes. I've had most of them for a while, just because I remember watching it when it was first airing, and maintaining sort of a cursory knowledge of it via fandom in general as it ended.
You're not a bad person. It's something of a wonder to me that she gets acting gigs.
Oh, thank goodness.

Ah, that would've been nice, yes. In May, I'll probably be in the middle of S4, although papers and such may mean I'm still in S3. Depends on how crazy April gets. At least we could watch the last good season together? (You are so correct that I think if I slowed down now, at least more than Netflix is forcing me to, I would probably explode. :D)
