Because god forbid I actually do any work this weekend1, I watched the Very Last Episode of Corner Gas. I haven't seen anything since the end of S4, but it's not like this show is serialized or anything, so I was able to follow as well as ever. It was a pretty good send off, all things considered. I liked the toast at the end. Oh, and this part was entertaining:
Show: "Officer Karen Pelly and Sergeant Davis Quinton eventually fell in love and got married."
Me: "OMGSQUEE!!1!!1!1!!!eleventy!!!! Wait, there's still space at the bottom of the screen..."
Show: "But not to each other."
Me: "D'OH!"
I'll just pretend they didn't show that addendum to their fates. La la la. I still can't quite believe I ship them, but I've grown okay with it. *squishes*
1 I'm about three-quarters of the way done with a very rough draft of the pedagogy paper, which I'm crossing my fingers I'll be able to finish tonight and clean up tomorrow. We shall see. Technically it doesn't need to be completed for a while, but I'm a bit worried that my Victorian paper is still but a 500-word proposal and a few pages' worth of quotations. I hate the end of the semester.

I did the SAME THING, OMG. That was so mean of them. *chuckle*
The last two seasons have been good, and although I wasn't quite ready for the show to end, they did go out well. I cringed when they started the "fates" stuff (after Due South I learned to hate that sort of ending), but they did good by not shaking things up too much.

Indeed it was. Hence why I am disregarding that second sentence. In my world, Officer Karen Pelly and Sergeant Davis Quinton eventually fell in love and got married. The End.

Yep. I pretty much expected this kind of ending, though--not much else you can do for a series like this and still have it remain true.
