I like warm weather and all, but I think five days straight (yesterday through Tuesday) of near-90F temperatures in April is a little excessive. There's a freaking wildfire watch on now. (Apparently living near a national park covered in forest means I get new and interesting weather warnings? I don't recall ever having one of those in Nashville.)

God, I know! The weather report claimed it was going to be in the low 80s yesterday. It LIED to me. Suddenly it was 90 out and just plain awful. :(

Ugh. The weather reports are at least not lying to me, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I had to turn on my air conditioner yesterday afternoon, which, given the amazing cross-ventilation in this apartment and also my big box fans, is just a crime this early in the year.

Yikes! I hate all the smoke from the fires. We tend to get quite a few fires here in Florida. There are santioned brushfires, and those need to be watched carefully so not to get out of control, and then the freak wildfires... either way... so not fun.

Plus heat.. yucky. AC is our friend!

Uh, wildfire watch? Holy cow, I never saw one of those in Knoxville before. Either the weather is crazy, or I have been more oblivious than I thought. Yeah, it felt like 85 here yesterday, and that's just wrong. Delightful, but wrong.

I don't think I've ever been near a wildfire. The worst I've had is smoke from people burning leaves.

Yeah, AC is our expensive friend. Le sigh.

I would've thought it a once-or-twice-a-year sort of thing, especially since there's been a drought down here for...what...five or six years now? I mean, there's a looooot of trees in what the National Weather Service considers the Knoxville area.

Yeah, it felt like 85 here yesterday, and that's just wrong. Delightful, but wrong.

I was appreciating the 75 we had for a day or two. That's just about perfect.

Hmmm...yes, come to think of it, I have, once during college. It was a really, really cold night in fall, and I couldn't really get close enough to the fire to get warm. I was pretty unimpressed, actually.
