icepixie: ([B5] Shadow ships)
[personal profile] icepixie
- Wow, I didn't realize we were jumping four years in the future with this movie. Huh.

- Meep, telepath crisis. :(

- Garibaldi! Haven't seen you in a while. And hey, he finally gets to command a White Star! Hmmm, I wonder if he got Bester's block removed at some point in the past four years...

- Whoa, Sheridan looks much more than four years older.

- And he's being all secretive about their big new ships. Weren't you once against that kind of thing?

- Oh, well, now you've just tempted fate. That means something's definitely going to be able to keep up with you. Let me guess--it's Galen.

- Yep. Hi, Galen! I always thought you were nifty back when I was watching Crusade. (Although, now that I think about it...why do people in the B5verse think technomages are so special? I mean, from the explanation we're given, they're computer geeks-turned-magicians who wear cloaks. In reality, they would be somewhere on the same rung of the social ladder as people who go to cons in costume. Do they have bigger and better technology they just don't share, or is them making regular tech look cooler all there is to them? And for god's sake, why are they even bothering with the "magic"?)

- Sheridan, why exactly are you stockpiling destroyers? Is this something that was always in the plans, or is there an arms race gearing up?

- WHY HELLO THAR, EXCALIBUR!

- ...Oops?

- They did a good job making the ships look nothing like B5. They're too brightly-lit to belong to the B5 universe. ;)

- NOOOOOO, NOT MORE MIND CONTROL!

- Heh, Michael the hardass CEO shows up.

- Zack! Hi, Zack. And Dureena!

- Dureena's extended disarming did make me chuckle. The garrote she apparently carries around was the best part.

- Hi, Drakh.

- Whoa, I'd forgotten about the Thieves' Guild. That's not right out of a fantasy novel or anything...

- Uh...apparently I'd forgotten about Dureena's special powers, too. She and Lyta should get together. They could bond. Over bondage. (Sorry. That was bad even for me.)

- Ah, the complication with the big gun. That's a pretty good narrative constriction.

- Poor, hallucinatory John. At least the message wasn't mind control, though!

- Look, druids technomages! At Stonehenge!

- Uhhhh, wasn't the Shadow offensive a multi-race deal? I definitely recall that being a major aspect of it, leading to the Alliance. So why are the Drakh so concerned with the humans? (Hell, the Minbari financed the whole operation!)

- Ooooh. The womrholes look nifty in this movie. Yay for newer CGI!

- Er, should you be encouraging Dureena's bloodlust, Sheridan?

- John, you sneaky bastard.

- I see the Minbari spent the past four years learning English. Or I suppose Michael might've learned Minbari.

- DUDE. SHERIDAN. CALM DOWN WITH THE GUNS.

- ...are the two officers who wear glasses in this movie the first we've seen of vision correction in the entire series?

- One of the few times they go to a planet in this franchise, and where do they go? A QUARRY. HAH. Oh, JMS, you are so wannabe-British.

- "We've only seen these kinds of craters from Shadow planet-killers." Uh...have you looked at your moon lately?

- Have you considered trying to round up all the Shadow tech that's been lying around and destroying it, since you're having such troubles with it? Just a thought.

- Oh, Dureena, you are so reminiscent of Ivanova when you get snarky and cynical. Please keep it up. I approve.

- Ohhhh, my. So was anyone not completely sure that Anderson wouldn't survive the hour after that conversation with his kid? Anyone? Didn't think so.

- Those would be SPACE STARFISH.

- Today is a bad day to be Lochley.

- The spy being Drake in 3...2...1...

- Heh.

- I like that the prejudice against Martians continues to have repercussions. Sadly, that seems to be one of the most believable things about this vision of the future. (Sadly in the sense that I could totally see it being there in any future, not sadly as in everything else about the B5verse is unbelievable.)

- Well, what do you know. Lochley talked them into sending ships.

- Dureena, perhaps you should quit blathering on about your background and give them a damn target, eh?

- Ohhhh, the Victory is goin' down. (Is it just me, or do they ram something with a ship in half the battles on this show?)

- Plague pods! Oh noes!

- Ooooh, sucks to be on Earth. Man, can you imagine if you were visiting there or something at the time? SUCKTASTIC.

- Er...small problem with your plan to find First Ones/older races to give you a cure. As I recall, THEY ALL LEFT at the end of the Shadow War. *headdesk*

- I...okay, this ship is like three-fifths gun. How is it going to be a good research ship? Don't they need, I dunno, labs, maybe? Medical facilities? I suppose it probably has such things by virtue of its sheer size, but isn't it needed to defend against the Drakh? Aren't there research ships better suited to this task? People! Allocation of Resources 101!

- Hmmm. Dureena and Galen looked like they know each other in that brief shot they had together. I can't recall if this is true or not. Would be interesting if it is...

- Sheridan's speech, condensed: "PLZ WATCH OUR NEW SERIES, KTHXBAI." :D<.
