Do you have a timeline for your first draft?

Kind of, but not exactly. I'm planning to have ten pages by the end of the month, ten more by the beginning of the fall semester in mid-August, and then we'll see. Orals are scheduled for April, so it needs to be done by then. However, I'd like to get something approaching a complete draft by January. (I think this isn't going to be so much a question of first/second/etc. drafts as it will be "write a few pages, make revisions, write a few more pages, make revisions, rise and repeat," with my advisor looking over the sections as I write them. Then once it's done there won't be any major revisions--I hope.)

Whoooo! The first page is the hardest, too!

Oh my god, it took me a week to get the first word. I was just like, "I have SO MUCH INFORMATION and NO IDEA WHERE TO START." And now I'm still a bit stymied as far as an introduction goes; I think I'm going to just skip ahead to my first analytic section and tell my advisor I'll fill in the gaps at a later date.

(Plus, I really just need to look over a few theses, because I've never read something that's this intermediate length between a book and an article, and I'm not really sure how much space I need to be devoting to various parts.)
