Finished the introduction to my thesis! It's...longer than many papers I've written. Wow.
I just sent it off to my director. *has a minor panic attack* Crossing my fingers to get a couple more pages on my first chapter done tomorrow, so that I can meet my goal of twenty pages by the time the semester starts in a month.* I won't really be able to work on it next week because all my books and papers will be up in Knoxville while I am not, and then teaching workshops are going to eat the week before classes start. Argh.
* Speaking of panic attacks: I WILL BE TEACHING TWO CLASSES IN EXACTLY ONE MONTH. AAAAAAAHHHHHH.

Date: 2009-07-23 03:24 am (UTC)I think it's a southern thing. All K-12 schools and colleges in southern states start insanely early--I remember starting a year of high school on August 11th. The nice part is that our year ends super early as well. (Classes at UT were over on April 30th this year.)

Ugh, yes. And it's followed immediately by a 9:00 section. But then I'm done teaching for the day! (Still have to either hold office hours or work at the journal for the rest of the morning, but that's manageable. And then I'm done for the day three days a week.)
Thanks for the good luck wishes!
