Oct. 4th, 2009 05:19 pmA Sporcle quiz informs me that there actually exists a song called "My Life Would Suck Without You."
To which I go, "....Seriously?"
If there's a clearer case to be made for bringing the arts back into schools, I'm not sure what it is.

In other news, my mom and aunt came to visit this weekend, and we went to Gatlinburg. Fudge and lemonade were had, and mountains were viewed.
I also got a funny postcard

and a fan.

Here it is in context:

Those would be my "school" bookshelves. The short one and bottom shelf of the tall one is all the stuff from classes last year and for the reading list. The middle shelf of the tall one is library books for the thesis (I've thinned them considerably in the past week); the top is reference, journal issues, and miscellaneous, and the stuff between the bookends is current teaching materials, sci-fi theory, and random books of poetry.

Date: 2009-10-05 09:28 pm (UTC)I...can't say as I had planned to...
Also, yes please, someone teach them to be creative so that we don't get songs titled "I think like...uhm...I might kinda love you." in a few years.
Just thinking about that makes me want to hurt someone.
Love your spring cat btw :)
Thanks!

Date: 2009-10-04 11:27 pm (UTC)Unrelated note, I've been backing up old media files and came across the "Zombie Jamboree" you once linked us too. Was cracking up as much as the first time I saw it. Made me want to go watch Dr. Who and Buffy like old times.
Thanks for sharing... again.
