Castle 2.04: "Fool Me Once"
Oct. 13th, 2009 11:33 amI think I hurt something laughing at that bathroom scene. Ow, my spleen. But OMG, that was hilarious! I admit, I was hoping for fireworks from Beckett reading Chapter 9 and confronting Castle about it, but that scene, combined with the CIA guy revealing it, was a pretty good substitute.
(Speaking of which, loved the surreality of the CIA dude. I adore that they're slowly getting less and less realistic on this show.)
Starting to wonder if Beckett might be verging on pathological lying--although really, it only seems to be around Castle, so I guess it's more...pathological UST/flirting? Er. She's funny, anyway. (Although I gotta say, I hate con movies, so I was all "Right on!" when she said she did too, only to have my glee dashed.)
Really liked the father/daughter drama this time. They needed to have some conflict there. Castle freaking out because of the case's implications for his daughter was perfect.
So does the intro remind anyone of the "...together, they fight crime!" formulation? I assume that's what they're going for, although I'm a bit ashamed it took me this long to realize it.
Short takes:
- Oh, what a nice, technology-filled classroom. Why can't my classrooms look like that?
- "Do we have jurisdiction in the North Pole?"
- "That was awesome! I mean, that was horrible. But awesome!"
- Oh, Castle, have you been watching due South? (Who else immediately thought that when he mentioned pemmican?)
- "Really? 'Cause it seems to be working just great." THEY ARE SO CUTE.
- "...because of his extensive experience as a fraud." Oooooh, ouch.
- Hah, Ryan thinks being six years old is no excuse for not knowing where penguins live! Can I just put him in a box and take him home?
- Dude, I expected much more ribbing from Esposito and Ryan about Castle's "unresolved feelings."
- Did I mention how ADORABLE Castle and Beckett are? Because they are. SO CUTE.

Date: 2009-10-13 09:09 pm (UTC)Also, once I get my first season Due South DVDs back from my dad, my roommate is all "Dude, I wanna see this now!" So, you know, converting people without any effort on my part. Nice. :)
