Have to admit, not as thrilled with this one as I usually am. Maybe it was the music (seriously, I expected Alexis to have better taste). And the whole "analyzing the song lyrics to find the killer" thing pegged my BS meter.

Some good quotes, though:

Esposito: ...B-I-T-C-H.
Castle: She can spell.
Ryan: Probably better than you.
Aw, bless. Esposito is all, "Uhhhh, the kid in the cop bullpen is so cramping my style." And Ryan's just snarky.

Beckett: So often you act like a twelve-year old; it's refereshing to see you as a father.
Castle: Makes you want me, doesn't it?
Beckett: And there's the twelve-year-old again.
LOVE IT. Not only is it funny, but Beckett's totally attracted to him because of his parenting abilities, which is so awesome and feels so right. (Did you see that look she gave him/the camera after he said he'd tell Alexis the truth?)

Beckett: Everyone looks like a killer to me. Job requirement.
Castle: Do I look like I killer to you?
Beckett: Yes. You kill my patience.

Castle: Everybody looks like a killer to me. Job requirement.
Alexis: ...?
Castle: Let me have this moment.
Awww. Hero-worship.

Castle: I never fully appreciated the nuances of the word "skeevy" until now.

Castle: "She hated Obama!" (I CRACKED. UP. here.)

Other things:

- I see Ryan's carrying around a copy of Heat Wave. I so want to see him and Esposito ribbing Beckett about that sex scene.

- Someone actually named a kid "Sky Blue"? No wonder she turned to drugs.

- Beckett got scary this week. Particularly when she was on the bus getting the stalker. Wow.

- Castle and Martha making fun of/reality-checking Alexis's obsession with the lyrics with stories about analyzing Beatles and Van Halen lyrics was pretty amusing.

- Beckett and Castle seemed to be working together rather than half-together/half-in tandem this time more than ever. It seemed more voluntary on her end--when she asked what he thought, there wasn't an undercurrent of snark. I liked the snark, but this was nice as well. That moment where they were both stumped, and she put out the candy dish and they both took one was fun as well--you could tell this is some kind of thinking ritual they've gotten into.

- I was sort of hoping they would leave the case unsolved--not because I wanted them to come back to it in the future (God, no), but just because those cases do exist, and, okay, I was pretty tired of it by the end--I wanted them to spend the last five minutes on anything but the case.

- The song was still godawful, but Castle, Beckett, Alexis, and Martha all together at the concert at the end was lovely. They are so obviously going to grow into a family in the next few years (please let it live that long, ABC!), and it was like a little preview. Aw.
