Castle and an amusing idea
Nov. 17th, 2009 01:32 pmThis week was an improvement over last, but still not as awesome as some of the earlier episodes this season. The Alexis-confiding-in-Beckett thing was about what I expected, but still reasonably entertaining; however, Alexis was a little too precocious with the "thanks for not pushing" at the end with Castle, because seriously, what teenager is going to say that? Yeah.
I lost track of what was going on in the case about halfway through, but I never pay much attention to the cases anyway, so whatever. Did recognize a guest star, finally, in Jonathan LaPaglia. Probably I'm the only one who recognizes him from Seven Days, though...
I liked the criminal-turned-locksmith, and I hope he sticks around--but in really, really small doses, 'cause he could get annoying very quickly. (Also adored that Castle knows the uniforms well enough to be able to call the one who was holding on to the locksmith by his first name.)
Beckett and Castle were great together this week, though. They totally worked over the victim's brother-in-law in perfect synchronization, and I loved Beckett's "We are not done talking about this!" and "That [I told you so] starts tomorrow." They should just go down to the courthouse and get a license, 'cause they're already married. Also, from the way they were feeding off each other as they spun out that elaborate murder scenario in the car, I have a feeling they'll wind up co-authoring a book one day.

I've decided thatif when I write a Bake/Sherry (Follow the Fleet) fic, it should concern them ditching the vaudeville act in order to head off to Hollywood and make a series of musicals with flimsy plots and great dance scenes for which they become incredibly popular.
Ah, metafiction. *draws postmodern hearts*
Now, back to typing up my comments on student papers. Nine more to go, and then that's it! Until the next set comes in in two and a half weeks, anyway. *sigh*
