Somewhere over the...well.

So I've been meaning to watch Tin Man for some time now. It's available from Netflix streaming, and since I feel like death warmed over at the moment, I decided it would be perfect for vegging with.
The story was interesting enough that I could--for the most part--look past the high school play-level acting (seriously, could Evil Sorceress Lady be less convincing?) and stilted dialogue (for realz, DG thought her "parents" were dead, and she greets them as if they'd just gotten back from a cruise? Come on). That looong interlude with the mirror where DG found out about her evil sibling stretched my terrible dialogue endurance, but when it was over, I thought, perhaps, things could be salvaged.
Then Evil Sorceress Lady had monkeys fly out of her boobs.
I had to stop there. I feel no interest in continuing.
About the only thing I unequivocally liked about the thing was the steampunked Art Deco/Streamline aesthetic. I desperately hope we're going to see a renaissance of Art Deco in this decade. It's still influencing things, and seems to have ramped that up lately, but I'd love to see shamelessly Deco design come back.
