Gaaaaaah. This is seriously rivaling that time I threw my back out for most painful experience I've ever had. How does a blister about 1 cm wide manage to hurt SO MUCH?

At least it only hurts that bad when I take it out of the bowl of cold water. And the lidocaine/aloe vera gel I luckily saved after my last really bad sunburn lets me keep it out of the water for almost ninety seconds before the pain comes back. But however nice they are, these remedies do present certain problems with, say, sleeping...which I guess I won't be doing tonight. *sigh*

Thank you all for the lols; individual responses coming either when I get bored from my pain-induced all-nighter or regain the use of my right hand for typing, whichever comes first.

Ouch! I believe Johnson & Johnson makes an antiseptic lidocaine wash that might be more effective than your lidocaine/aloe vera gel. At least, I got more relief from the wash when I sliced a bit of my hand off a couple years ago than I had from such gels for sunburn.

Hope it's feeling better.. I once lit myself on fire when I was changing the oil in my car, only got relatively minor burns, but that shit hurt..

If you have gauze already and don't want to buy any, go ahead and use that, try not to use alot of neosporin, because when it dries it will rip the skin when you change the bandage, the drier the wound the better, but if you do buy gauze, make sure it is gauze SPONGES. Gauze sponges have the least amount of space between threads, so when you take them off it won't stick to the wound and hurt and take skin with the wound, even when you apply a liberal amount of Neosporin.

(Can you tell I've had to work with this for awhile?)

Burn blisters are the absolute worst. The only thing you can really do is 1) Stop icing it. Since you've gotten to the point where you've been icing it for a while already, the ice has done all it can. You'll probably start crying when you have to take the ice off and you start to feel it again, but that's totally normal. 2) Bandage and ointment. Helps the damaged skin recover, at least a little.

Sounds like you knew exactly how to take care of it; good for you! On a related note, how the heck did you do that to yourself?

Now I'm freaking out about the fact that I can't remember when my last tetanus shot was.

Tetanus? Did you pierce it with rusty metal?

Oooh, that sounds like no fun at all. I hope this doesn't put you off rice pudding forever!

No, but every site about burns on the internet claims you should get a booster if you get a burn blister, I guess as a precaution.

Huh. Did not know that!

Good, rice pudding is one of the best desserts, in my opinion.

Totally random, but I found the S5 image (http://pics.livejournal.com/rivendellrose/pic/000axgw1) that went with (I think?) the S4 image I sent you yesterday.
