Well, that was less than thrilling, although the steampunk party was worth the price of admission. (Seriously, NO TEENAGER IS GOING TO TALK LIKE THAT TO HER FATHER. OY.) I did enjoy the Ryan and Esposito stuff. I think if I were tuning in for the first time, I would have automatically assumed they were a couple from their interactions this week. Ryan seemed to know an awful lot about Esposito's whereabouts and health.

I also watched the last episodes of Fringe S1 yesterday, and...wow. That final shot. Man. I was pleased to see that the theory I was most sure about, our Peter having come from an alternate universe, was true. Also, Leonard Nimoy will never not be Spock. Ever. (All through the last two episodes, I could just hear J.J. Abrams going, "HEY GUYS, MY VERSION OF STAR TREK IS COMING OUT THIS MONTH! YOU SHOULD GO WATCH IT!")

Heh. Yeah, the bromance is strong in those two.

Anyway, the episode was indeed a bit sub-par, but I'm wondering about Beckett's new boyfriend now and how this relationship will influence her interactions with Castle. I found it quite telling that she never mentioned the guy and just started dating behind everyone's back, so to speak. I think the fallout of the season 2 finale has burned her quite badly...

Nah, don't worry. When I am dissatisfied with a book or show, I usually don't hold back, either. ;) And I actually share your opinion that the new BF is a stalling tactic, but I remain cautiously optimistic that he will also serve a purpose for exploring Beckett's character a little more.

THAT was the "freaking awesome way they do it that's totally cooler than you expected" part. One of them, at least. :)

Yeah, I was ever so slightly disapointed (I was expecting more steam punk), but not enough to get beyond my abject love of the series. Even the bad episodes make me glee.

Ah, we are talking about the same thing in different ways. I do not typecast him as Spock. I have had the opportunity to see him from his callow youth to his vigorous old age and the man is versatility incarnate. When he played "Paris" in a brief stint in the original Mission Impossible series he well proved his abilities. He went so much further with time and age.

It is merely at the age you see him now he has finally become able to play "Leonard Nimoy" and relax into it, be welcomed for it. And Leonard Nimoy is Spock. Inseparable.

I meant no matter who plays that part, no matter how well it is reimagined or how well it is cast, no one will ever be "my" Spock but Nimoy. He informed my youth. He shaped my days. It was not young love nor even lust. Spock was the one sane role model of my life when my life had no sanity at all.

He probably saved my life. Nimoy will always be "my" Spock :)

Skipped the castle part (I just tried watching s3 ep 1, and gave up cause bwuh... I missed season 2 I think O_O), but I'm just finishing season 2 of Fringe lol, and Leonard Nimoy will always be Spock. He's just uhm, either in the holosuite or something happened that messed up time and he is now stuck on Earth in our time. Sort of. *nodnod*

He's just a bit... older than TOS lol.
