Music note (*rimshot*)
Dec. 7th, 2010 01:16 pmHem fans! Steven Curtis, one of the four regular band members, has a side project called Little Silver. They recently released an EP that, while not exactly Hemmish, is definitely in the same vein. You can hear the entire thing here, and watch nifty a video for my favorite of the songs on the main page.

Okay, so they have three albums out and some assorted covers and one-offs, all of which are well-represented on Grooveshark if you do a search for the band name. To start with, I would suggest Half Acre, which you may have heard in a series of Liberty Mutual commercials over the past couple years. It's by far their most famous song, and definitely the most Hemmish.
One of my very favorites is Pacific Street, which is achingly gorgeous. Great Houses of New York is similarly lovely. Redwing and He Came to Meet Me are more upbeat, but equally beautiful.
I could do this all day, but I'll stop here. I have run into only one song from them that I dislike ("The Pills Stopped Working") because it was just too far over to the "country" end of the spectrum.
