Fringe: "Marionette"
Dec. 9th, 2010 09:10 pmHuh, guess I never talked about the previous two episodes, did I? I thought they were very good, though. And tonight's episode was really lovely, especially the end. There were a lot of really horrible ways "Olivia confronting the fact that Peter and Fauxlivia were sleeping together" could've gone, but the way they did it felt so very natural and organic. It was heartbreaking without feeling melodramatic or forced in any way, and Olivia's rant at Peter was perfectly in-character. His attempts at gentleness were also very Peterish. (And bwahaha, Walter: "Do you think they replaced her with a robot?")
The main storyline was super, super creepy, too. The marionette scene was horrifying and yet cool.

Date: 2010-12-10 04:13 am (UTC)I agree. I'm so confused! It does feel organic and in character and I'm not really arguing for a specific, different turn of events. But it is what always happens, LOL, and I think that's what's killing me. I'm not even saying I wanted it to be happily ever after for them, drama-free. I don't...actually know what I'm saying. I don't really have any doubts that they'll work it out, so it's not ship angst.
I'm probably going to have to watch the episode again. Tomorrow, when I'm awake; I am steadily becoming less and less articulate.
