Dec. 22nd, 2010 01:12 amI finished my Slings & Arrows rewatch today. I am such a sap, but even though it's my third time through, I cried when Geoffrey finally got back onstage, especially in the bit from I.iv where Kent says that he is a man who wishes only to serve Lear. Oh my GOD. Paul Gross plays the hell out of that scene.
(I'm thinking that the very first play the Montreal edition of the Theatre sans Argent puts on is Antony and Cleopatra, since Geoff promised it to Ellen at the beginning of S2. And of course she insists he play her Antony, and since they have no money and can't hire anyone else, he winds up doing it. It would be so great. They need to do a sequel series.)
I also started on that dS/S&A crossover that I'm still pretty sure is a terrible idea, and as, uh, preparation, I watched a couple dS episodes today. Thatcher's character gets screwed, especially in the later seasons, but...okay, something about her and Fraser just bypasses all the logic channels in my brain and makes me squee uncontrollably. They are SO. CUTE. *squeak* The eggs! The kiss on top of the train! Semaphoring compliments! *falls over*

Date: 2010-12-22 01:49 pm (UTC)Re: due South: I am all about the Fraser/Thatcher in s2, oh my god. (I actually keep meaning to write the AU in which Thatcher reported on that creep from We Are the Eggmen and he pulled strings to get her exiled to Chicago instead of promoted, so Thatcher has Turnbull's job, she and Fraser don't have any but-you're-my-superior-officer hangups, and they end up with a romance that works. SOMEDAY I WILL WRITE IT.) Meanwhile, I would like to hear about the contents for your dS/S&A crossover!

My crossover...uh, it doesn't have much of a plot, so it would probably be better to just read it (I think I'm almost done!), but basically F&T are in New Burbage to watch a 1996-era production of Romeo and Juliet, and it inspires FEELINGS. (Ohhhh, I feel like such a cliche. To be fair, so does Thatcher in the story.) And then they act on them! And there is more crossoveryness, actually, but I haven't written it all yet. Soon!
