Ah, Alias.
Oct. 19th, 2003 10:31 pmGrrr. You people, and Ellen and Meg, have addicted me to the point where I feel the need to babble about this show on LJ. Grrr.
But yeah. I'm guessing that Vaughn/Lauren isn't long for this world. They seemed to be all about the tension in this episode. Plus Vaughn was all mushy with/about Sydney at more than one point in the ep. However, even with that, I still think Sydney's being a.) childish and b.) idiotic with her not-separating-personal-and-professional thing. Come on. Really. So totally the way to get yourself killed.
That jump from the bajillionth floor of the hotel into the pool? Sydney should so be, like, in a hospital with severe neck injuries. However, now I know where this show stands on realism... ;)
I so want to slash Lauren and Sydney just for my own personal amusement. Heh. Or at least have them share evil secrets about Vaughn with him sweating in the background over exactly what they're saying.
Other than that...I'm still lost. Somewhat. Have no clue who this Sark person is, for example. But that's okay, 'cause apparently everyone else is lost too, so no big deal. ;)

Date: 2003-10-19 07:51 pm (UTC)Dude, me too! I can so see them going all buddy ish and gossiping about how he talks in his sleep or has a hissy fit over not putting the cap back on the toothpaste or something like that!

Date: 2003-10-20 10:37 am (UTC)It's not so much that I can see it happening like that, but rather that that would make a fantastic parody. And I can see them doing it in passing, a little, but not specifically sitting down to gossip about Vaughn.

Date: 2003-10-20 10:38 am (UTC)Yes. Kate's quote about "I want pretty boys to have pretty sex so I can watch" is going through my head now, and I'm replacing "boys" with "girls" and nodding my head in agreement.

Actually, that was about the most unrealistic thing I've ever seen in the show - and I've been watching since episode 1.01!
Or at least have them share evil secrets about Vaughn with him sweating in the background over exactly what they're saying.
They hate each other too much for that.
'cause apparently everyone else is lost
Oh no. I know who everyone is. In detail. All the history. HAVE. NOT. MISSED. AN. EPISODE.
So, what do you want to know. ;)

Actually, that was about the most unrealistic thing I've ever seen in the show - and I've been watching since episode 1.01!
Hmmmm. I'm still reserving judgement until I see more eps.
They hate each other too much for that.
Oh, I don't think so. I don't think Lauren really hates Sydney, although neither of them really hold any love for the other. I could see them becoming...maybe not best buddies, but I could see them having a brief Vaughn-gossip conversation.

Whoa. Okay, then who's this Sark fellow?

Date: 2003-10-20 11:09 am (UTC)The people I talk to in the office about this agree that it was unusually unrealistic.
I could see them having a brief Vaughn-gossip conversation.
I don't think that Lauren will be into that now that Syd has stabbed Vaughn . . . ;)
Okay, then who's this Sark fellow?
Ah, Sark.
First appeared in Episode 1.14 "The Coup". Found out later that he was the operations director for a group working for "The Man". This is a group that took over existing organisations by destroying their leadership. It seemed that this organisation was also after Rambaldi documents that SD-6 was seeking.
At the beginning of Season 2, it was revealed that "the man" that Sark worked for was actually not a man at all, but Irina Derevko, Sydney's mother! Derevko was a Russian agent that was assigned to steal information from Jack Bristow, then a CIA agent.
During the course of Season 2, Sark continues to work for Derevko, and after the destruction of "The Alliance", of which SD-6 was a part, Arvind Sloane and Derevko join forces, with Sark contining to work for them.
He has encountered Sydney on many occasions, and even worked with her on a couple of occasions.
Sark was finally captured by the CIA at the end of season 2, and remained locked up for the two years Sydney was presumed dead.
In Season 3, it has been revealed that Sark's father was actually the son of Andrian Lazarey, a Russian diplomat who had ties to the Romanov family. He inherited 800 million dollars in gold bullion when his father died.
Since his trade to the Covenant and him giving them the 800 million, he now appears to be acting in a similar operational role for the new organisation.

Ah, Sark. *snip*
Ah. Very complicated (I just recently figured out what SD-6 is), but I begin to see. Thanks.

Very complicated
I don't think there is anything in this show that isn't complicated in one way or another!

True. Very, very true.
